According to the Organizing Committee of the 1st "Smoke-free Medical Facility" Contest, after a period of launching the Contest, the Secretariat has compiled the following data:
As of the closing date of the competition registration, 233 medical facilities had registered to participate in the competition.
After screening, 101 medical facilities met the requirements according to the contest rules. Of these 101 facilities, 87 participated in the multiple-choice test; In the document test, only 57 medical facilities submitted application documents + videos .
According to the contest rules, the Preliminary Round consists of 3 parts:
- Multiple choice test: Answer 25 questions online about tobacco harm prevention;
- Application form: Submit information and documents proving the construction of a smoke-free medical facility at the unit;
- Video Contest: Submit 01 video clip (5-7 minutes) about the implementation process, solutions, initiatives and lessons learned.
Through marking the multiple-choice test, profile and video sections of 57 eligible units (units participating in all 3 sections including multiple-choice test, profile and video), the Preliminary Round Jury selected 25 excellent units qualified to enter the next round.

The first "Smoke-free medical facility" contest was organized by the Health and Life Newspaper in collaboration with the Tobacco Harm Prevention Fund to promote the proactive and positive spirit of medical facilities nationwide in building a clean and safe medical examination and treatment environment, contributing to improving the quality of medical services and protecting public health.

The contest is deployed nationwide with participants being public general and specialized hospitals at provincial, city and central levels, ministries and branches, and hospitals affiliated to universities.
