On the afternoon of November 12, Quang Ngai General Hospital 2 worked with a delegation from Attapeu Provincial Hospital (Laos) to study and receive transfer of pediatric anesthesia techniques.

Within 3 months, Quang Ngai General Hospital 2 will conduct training and transfer of pediatric anesthesia techniques to Dr. Viengkhon Manivong and his colleagues.

After mastering, doctors from Quang Ngai General Hospital 2 will continue to Attapeu Provincial Hospital to complete the transfer of pediatric anesthesia technology.

Doctor Le Huu Loi, Deputy Director of Quang Ngai General Hospital 2, said that, implementing the memorandum of understanding, Quang Ngai General Hospital 2 has carried out many activities of training, supporting, and transferring medical techniques to Attapeu Provincial Hospital, including anesthesia - one of the areas that Attapeu Provincial Hospital is still lacking.

Previously, Quang Ngai 2 General Hospital trained and transferred general anesthesia technology, currently pediatric anesthesia, moving towards supporting pathological anesthesia...

Support, training and technology transfer help Attapeu Provincial Hospital to better provide health care for patients, reducing the number of cases that have to be transferred to higher-level hospitals.

This activity also contributes to strengthening solidarity and friendship between the people of Quang Ngai-Attapeu provinces and Vietnam-Laos.

Doctor Nuphit Phonsavan, Deputy Director of Attapeu Provincial Hospital, informed that the hospital has been able to perform anesthesia methods for the elderly, but has not been able to perform them on children under 5 years old.

The reason is that the hospital's equipment is still lacking and the level of doctors here still needs to be further trained. Therefore, for cases under 5 years old that require anesthesia, the unit is forced to transfer to Champasack Provincial Hospital more than 200km away for treatment, which is very difficult for the patients.

Dr. Nuphit Phonsavan hopes that in these 3 months, doctors from Attapeu Provincial Hospital can master pediatric anesthesia techniques to treat local pediatric patients, helping patients and their families to have less trouble and expense.

The doctor also hopes that in the coming time, Quang Ngai General Hospital 2 will continue to train and transfer more medical techniques to serve the medical examination and treatment for the people of Attapeu province./.
