Changing the purpose of using some planted forest areas to implement traffic projects

Acting Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Tri province Ha Sy Dong has just signed decisions to change the purpose of forest use to implement the Eastern bypass project of Dong Ha city and the Gio Linh - Cam Lo inter-district traffic sub-project, and the adjustment of the Khe Muoc lake bypass section.

Accordingly, to implement the Dong Ha City Eastern Bypass Project, the Provincial People's Committee decided to change the purpose of forest use to other purposes to implement the project with a total area of ​​over 6.6 hectares, belonging to the communes: Gio Chau, Gio Mai, Gio My, Gio Quang and Gio Linh town (Gio Linh district). This is the area of ​​planted forest, of which production forest is over 6.5 hectares; forest outside the forestry planning (has been granted a certificate of land use rights for production forest) is over 0.1 hectares.

At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee also decided to change the purpose of forest use to implement the Gio Linh - Cam Lo inter-district road sub-project under the Basic Infrastructure Project for Comprehensive Development of Quang Tri Province - Adjustment of Khe Muoc Lake bypass section, with a total area of ​​over 10.2 hectares. The total area of ​​forest changed to this purpose of use is planted forest, belonging to the production forest type in Hai Thai commune (Gio Linh district) and Cam Tuyen commune (Cam Lo district).

The Department of Agriculture and Environment is responsible for presiding over and coordinating with relevant agencies and localities to closely inspect and monitor the conversion of forest use purposes to other purposes in accordance with the provisions of law, ensuring the correct scope and boundaries of the forest area converted for use purposes. At the same time, implement replacement forest planting and update forest developments for the area converted for use purposes to implement the project...

The Provincial People's Committee assigned the People's Committees of Gio Linh and Cam Lo districts to direct relevant units to carry out compensation and site clearance; closely inspect and supervise the conversion of forest use to other purposes to implement these projects in accordance with the provisions of law.
