On the morning of August 6, the official fanpage of the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club (formerly Ho Chi Minh City Club) announced the team's personnel to prepare for the new 2025-2026 season.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club was founded in 1979. In the 1990s, along with Saigon Port and Customs, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club were three big names with rich traditions in football in the city named after Uncle Ho.

During its golden age, the HCM City Police Club won many prestigious titles. Notably, it won the national championship in 1995, and finished second in the 1993-1994, 1996, 1999-2000 and 2001-2002 seasons...

"Welcome back the icon," the fanpage wrote next to a poster of the team's five most prominent faces, including head coach Le Huynh Duc, striker Tien Linh, striker Endrick Santos (Malaysian of Brazilian origin), midfielder Pham Duc Huy and Vietnamese-Slovak goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang (Slovakia).

The fanpage said that in recent times, the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security have paid much attention to directing sports in general and high-performance sports in particular. Especially professional football, with the desire to turn the Ho Chi Minh City Public Security Club into a strong club in the country, returning to the position that was the pride of the People's Public Security force in previous years.

Accordingly, last July, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee transferred the Ho Chi Minh City Club, which is competing in the national football championship (V-League), to the Ho Chi Minh City Police and changed its name to the Ho Chi Minh City Police Club.

In preparation for the 2025-2026 season, former player Le Huynh Duc, an "old man" of the former Ho Chi Minh City Police Club, was invited to sit in the "captain's seat" with assistants Phung Thanh Phuong, Hoang Hung and Chau Chi Cuong.

Regarding the squad, the players with good skills from the previous Ho Chi Minh City Club have been retained, such as goalkeeper Patrik Le Giang, defender Vo Huy Toan, center back Tran Hoang Phuc, midfielder Endrick Santos, Quoc Cuong, striker Bui Van Binh...

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club also brought in a series of new players. Notable are the current "Vietnam Golden Ball 2024" - striker Nguyen Tien Linh, midfielder Pham Duc Huy (transferred from Nam Dinh Club), Dang Van Lam ( Quang Nam ), midfielder Pham Van Luan (Hanoi Police), Nguyen Duc Phu (PVF-CAND), defender Le Quang Hung (SHB Da Nang)...

With foreign players, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club also brought in two new high-quality contracts: center back Matheus Felipe (Brazil) and central midfielder Samuel Bastien (dual Belgian and Congolese nationality).

Center-back Matheus Felipe, 1m86 tall, is valued at 1 million euros by transfermarkt. Midfielder Samuel Bastien is valued at 650,000 euros, much lower than his valuation of 7 million euros in October 2020 when he joined Standard Liege (Belgium).

In addition, Ho Chi Minh City Police Club is expected to welcome another equally quality foreign striker, Devante Cole - son of legend Andy Cole.

Ho Chi Minh City Police Club will hold a ceremony to launch the team on the afternoon of August 8 at the City Police Hall.
