Despite playing with a man advantage from the start of the first half, Ho Chi Minh City Police couldn't even secure a draw against Hanoi Police in Round 8 of the LPBank V-League 2025/26. In this match, striker Tien Linh was tightly marked, limiting him to just one header at the end of the game.

CAHN coach Polking said: “Tien Linh is currently the best striker in Vietnam. He had an opportunity because we defended tightly, safely, and provided good cover and support for each other. With such a deep defense, it was very difficult for opposing strikers. In fact, CA TP.HCM mainly used crosses from the flanks, but they were ineffective.”

Commenting on the match, Coach Polking said: “Van Do’s red card was very unfortunate, but CAHN fought brilliantly. I am pleased with the result as well as the players’ performance. Despite playing with one less player, the team was very united, supportive, and played bravely until the final minutes, scoring a goal. I am very proud of what the players contributed. This is a very important victory for CAHN.”

Regarding the performance of young goalkeeper Thanh Vinh – who replaced the injured Nguyen Filip – Coach Polking praised him, saying: “He showed confidence and fighting spirit, and fully deserved the opportunity to be the starting goalkeeper.”

Meanwhile, Ho Chi Minh City Police coach Le Huynh Duc explained the loss: "My players played well in this match, had many opportunities, but were too impatient. The defenders were a bit inexperienced. I consider Hanoi Police very strong, with opportunities to counter-attack even when playing with fewer players. In the second half, when the opposing team defended densely, we didn't have many options to put pressure on them."

With Tien Linh's disappointing performance, coach Le Huynh Duc stated that Ho Chi Minh City Police FC is facing systemic problems: "In recent matches, I wanted to create more attacking options, but the players lack experience. Many of our players are injured, so I've given opportunities to new players. They lack synchronization and coordination, most evident in the situation leading to the goal conceded due to the two central defenders' lack of observation."
