Hanoi Club and HAGL face difficulties in the opening round of the most special V-League season

V-League 2023 - 2024 is a very special season as this is the first time that the highest level of Vietnamese football will compete across 2 years (instead of being confined to 1 calendar year as before).

On the afternoon of September 22, Vietnam Professional Football Joint Stock Company (VPF) held a draw ceremony to schedule the matches of the national professional football tournaments for the 2023-2024 season. According to the draw results, Hanoi Police Club will play Binh Dinh Club in the opening round at Hang Day Stadium.

Coincidentally, in the 2023 V-League season, Hanoi Police Club will also compete with Binh Dinh Club in the opening round.

HAGL Club will start the season with a trip to Lach Tray Stadium of Hai Phong Club. The total prize money for the teams with high rankings in V-League 2023 - 2024 is 9.5 billion VND. Accordingly, the champion team receives 5 billion VND, the runner-up team receives 3 billion VND and the third-place team receives 1.5 billion VND.

In V-League 2023 - 2024, clubs are allowed to register a maximum of 3 foreign players and 1 Vietnamese player of foreign origin (naturalized player), while still being allowed to register 1 overseas Vietnamese player. Particularly, clubs participating in AFC tournaments (including Hanoi Club and Hai Phong Club) are allowed to register 4 foreign players.

V-League 2023 - 2024 will kick off on October 20 with matches in round 1. This season, there will be many matches applying VAR.

In the 2023-2024 National Cup, defending champion Thanh Hoa is in the same bracket with Binh Dinh, Hai Phong, Binh Duong, Nam Dinh. This is a challenging bracket for coach Velizar Popov and his team. Hanoi Club, Viettel Club, HAGL and Hanoi Police Club are grouped in the remaining bracket.
