Alvarez's free-kick makes waves on social media

Julian Alvarez scored a great goal to help Atletico Madrid crush Real Betis 4-1 in the penultimate round of La Liga 2024/25 in the early morning of May 19.

At the Metropolitano Stadium, Diego Simeone's team showed overwhelming strength against Betis. On a sublime day, Alvarez scored twice, especially the opening goal which is considered a strong candidate for the title of best goal of the season.

In the 9th minute, Atletico was awarded a free kick from 30 meters. Everyone was waiting for a cross or a simple combination, but Alvarez decided to do something different. He fired a shot with perfect spin, sending the ball straight into the top corner of the goal, leaving the Betis goalkeeper completely helpless.
