Top Indonesian club "eyeing" Quang Hai and Van Hau?

Indosport newspaper reported that Indonesia's top club, Persija Jakarta, has planned to recruit midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai.

Indonesian newspaper headlined: "Changing Southeast Asian player quota, Persija Jakarta targets midfielder Nguyen Quang Hai".

Accordingly, Persija Jakarta is still looking for a Southeast Asian player to strengthen the squad for the 2023/24 season. Coach Thomas Doll is aiming for a Southeast Asian player with experience playing in Europe.

The German coach admitted that Southeast Asia has many interesting players, so he passed up the opportunity to recruit Australian players. He really likes those who have experience playing in Europe. Among them, Quang Hai emerged as a bright candidate.

The player nicknamed Vietnamese Messi is playing for Pau FC in the French Second Division. Quang Hai's contract with Pau FC is still valid until June 2024 but his chances of playing are very low.

Although Pau FC has successfully maintained its position in the French Second Division, Quang Hai has not had a place in the club's squad for a long time. The last time the midfielder, born in 1997, played for Pau FC was on February 18 this year.

In 2023, Quang Hai has only played two matches for Pau FC with a total of 10 minutes. Therefore, the Vietnamese midfielder is looking for a new destination to be able to play more.
