Entering the quarter-finals of the Asian Cup C1, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will face Abu Dhabi Country Club (UAE) in the quarter-finals of the AFC Champions League Women's (Asian Women's Cup C1) 2024-2025. If they win, Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club will become the only women's team in Southeast Asia to reach the semi-finals of the tournament.
The opponent of the HCMC girls' club is a team that had a very convincing performance in the group stage. Abu Dhabi CC Club created a surprise when they finished in second place, just behind Hyundai Steel. They held the opponent ranked above them to a draw. Abu Dhabi CC Club even surpassed the extremely strong opponent Wuhan Jiangda, a very strong name from China, the team that had a ticket to the continental cup with a direct entry.
At Thong Nhat Stadium, the girls of HCMC Club were completely defeated by their opponents in the first 45 minutes. Facing opponents with physical advantages, the girls of HCMC were completely outclassed by their opponents.
The home team played without concentration and quickly had to pick the ball out of the net early in the 3rd minute - Princela Adubea entered the penalty area and fired a close-range shot past goalkeeper Quach Thu Em to open the scoring for Abu Dhabi.

Among them, the two foreign players are central defender Aubrey Rae Goodwill and striker Sabrina Cabrera, and the two overseas Vietnamese players are Chelsea Le and Ashley Tram Anh.
Within just 4 minutes from 63 to 67, K'Thua and Chuong Thi Kieu scored to shorten the gap to 2-3 for HCMC Club.

In the 90th minute, player Sanad Rashid scored an own goal after a jumbled ball in the penalty area, indirectly helping Ho Chi Minh City FC take a 5-4 lead and maintain this result until the final whistle sounded.
Ho Chi Minh City Women's Club is the only representative of Southeast Asia to advance to the semi-finals. Coach Nguyen Hong Pham's team will have to compete with heavyweights from the continent's top football teams such as Korea, Japan... Therefore, it can be understood that this victory is a historic milestone for the Vietnamese representative in this Asian arena.
