Reporting on the results of fundraising for the "For the Poor" Fund and for people affected by storms and floods in 2025, Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy Nga, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lam commune and Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Gia Lam commune, said that as of October 27th, the "For the Poor" and flood and storm relief fund of the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune had received more than 2.4 billion VND, of which the "For the Poor" Fund received 862.222 million VND.
Regarding support for people affected by storms and floods, 1.566 billion VND has been received. In addition to cash donations, some organizations also mobilized support in the form of essential goods such as rice, water, instant noodles, dried food, cooking oil, etc.

Twenty-eight organizations, agencies, units, businesses, and schools raised 637.404 million VND and essential supplies and school materials. In addition to their initial contributions in response to the Fatherland Front's call, several households and individuals donated an extra 24.1 million VND, notably Ms. Dong Thi Nguyet from Noi Thuong residential area who donated two months' salary, totaling 8.5 million VND.
At the conference, Gia Lam commune received donations and presented plaques recognizing "Golden Hearts" to units, organizations, and individuals who had contributed to the fund.
* Also at the conference, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lam commune implemented a joint plan on organizing the "National Unity Day" in residential areas in 2025.
Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lam commune, Nguyen Van Hoi, emphasized that organizing the festival in residential areas aims to promote the glorious tradition of the Vietnam National United Front, strengthen the great national unity, create a vibrant atmosphere of emulation in the community, practically celebrate major holidays of the year, and look forward to welcoming the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, term 2025-2030; the 95th anniversary of the Vietnam Fatherland Front's traditional day (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025); the 14th National Congress of the Party; and the Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, term 2026-2031.
Through this festival, the commune promotes the dissemination and mobilization of the people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws; strengthens social consensus and the positive response of the people; honors and commends outstanding collectives and individuals in implementing patriotic emulation movements and social welfare activities in the community, contributing to building a united, safe, and happy residential area, and building a new rural area and a civilized urban area.
The "National Unity Day" event will be held in residential areas throughout Gia Lam commune from November 1st to November 18th.
