Gia Lam received more than 2.4 billion VND to support the "For the Poor" Fund and people affected by storms and floods.

On the afternoon of October 28, Gia Lam commune held a conference to receive support from the "For the Poor" Fund and support people affected by storms and floods; and to implement a joint plan to organize the "National Great Unity Day" in residential areas in 2025.

Reporting on the results of the campaign to support the Fund "For the Poor" and people affected by storms and floods in 2025, Vice Chairwoman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Gia Lam commune Hoang Thi Thuy Nga said that as of October 27, the Fund "For the Poor" and flood and storms of the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune received more than 2.4 billion VND, of which the Fund "For the Poor" received 862,222 million VND.

Regarding support for people to overcome the consequences of storms and floods, 1,566 billion VND has been received. In addition to mobilizing cash, some units also mobilized to support necessities, such as: rice, water, instant noodles, dry food, cooking oil, etc.

There were 28 organizations, agencies, units, businesses, and schools that mobilized 637,404 million VND and necessities and school supplies. Some households and individuals, in addition to the support level in response to the call of the Commune Fatherland Front, donated an additional amount of 24.1 million VND, typically Ms. Dong Thi Nguyet in Noi Thuong residential group donated 2 months' salary of 8.5 million VND.

At the conference, Gia Lam commune received support and awarded "Golden Heart" plaques to units, organizations and individuals who supported the fund.

* Also at the conference, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lam commune deployed a joint plan on organizing the "National Great Unity Day" in residential areas in 2025.

Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Gia Lam Commune Nguyen Van Hoi emphasized that the organization of the festival in residential areas aims to promote the glorious tradition of the Vietnam National United Front, strengthen the great national unity bloc, create a vibrant competitive atmosphere in the community, practically celebrate the anniversaries of major holidays of the year and move towards welcoming the 18th Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front of Hanoi City, term 2025-2030; 95th anniversary of the tradition day of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (November 18, 1930 - November 18, 2025); 14th National Congress of the Party; Congress of the Vietnam Fatherland Front for the term 2026-2031.

Through the festival, the commune promotes propaganda and mobilizes people to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, the State's policies and laws; strengthens social consensus and positive response from the people; honors and commends outstanding collectives and individuals in implementing patriotic emulation movements and campaigns, social security activities in the community, contributing to building a united, safe, happy residential area, building new rural areas and civilized urban areas.

The "National Great Unity Day" will be held in residential areas in Gia Lam commune from November 1 to November 18.
