In order to prepare comprehensively for the 2025 - 2026 season, The Cong - Viettel Club is actively recruiting the missing pieces in the squad. Last summer, the team negotiated and recruited 4 domestic players. Including rookies Nguyen Van Viet, Dinh Xuan Tien and Dinh Viet Tu.
The remaining player is Dang Van Tram - a former warrior and youth training product of The Cong - Viettel. He has returned to the team after many years playing for Binh Dinh and Ha Tinh .
Colonel Do Manh Dung, Director of Viettel Sports Company, affirmed: "This is an important step in the journey to strengthen the squad and improve the club's competitiveness at the highest level of Vietnamese football. It clearly demonstrates the determination of the team's leadership in building a team with both professional depth and a balance between experience and youth."
The above-mentioned new recruits of The Cong - Viettel are all quite good at the V-League level. Nguyen Van Viet, born in 2002, is a goalkeeper who won the 2023 Southeast Asian U23 Championship with U23 Vietnam. He has been the main goalkeeper for Song Lam Nghe An in the last 2 seasons, and has 16 clean sheets.
The 23-year-old goalkeeper affirmed: "For me, the new environment is both a challenge and a great opportunity. I see the strong reform and great determination of the club before this season."
Similar to Nguyen Van Viet, midfielder Dinh Xuan Tien is also a prominent player in the U23 Vietnam team. He won the title of Top Scorer of the U23 Southeast Asia 2023, a tournament in which the U23 Vietnam team under the leadership of coach Hoang Anh Tuan won the championship.
Xuan Tien, born in 2003, is still old enough to participate in the 33rd SEA Games later this year. With a creative, versatile playing style and good long-range shooting ability, if he performs well under coach Velizar Popov, Xuan Tien has the opportunity to be called back to the U23 Vietnam team by coach Kim Sang Sik.
Dinh Viet Tu was born in 1992, is a physical defender, strong in competition and often participates in effective attacks.
Returning to The Cong - Viettel, he has the opportunity to reunite with his old teacher Popov, and help the army team have more reliable options on the wing.
Dang Van Tram was born in 1995, trained at Viettel training center, and won the V-League championship in the 2020 season with the army team.
Returning to his old home, this defensive midfielder is expected to fill the position left by Nguyen Duc Chien, combining his extensive experience to increase the steel in the midfield for The Cong - Viettel.
In the coming time, The Cong - Viettel will announce 5 more new recruits, including foreign players and overseas Vietnamese. This will be the season in which the team has added the largest number of new recruits since the 2020 V-League championship.
