Seize the opportunity

“Every day, I am very happy when my daughter calls me to talk about her work and life. I hope that after completing the 3-year contract, my child will progress, mature, and develop a sustainable career.” With bright eyes, Ms. Ngo Thi Hue in Dinh Thanh Hamlet, Dinh Mon Commune, Thoi Lai District, talked about her daughter Le Thanh Phuong, 33 years old, who is working in the food packaging industry in Japan. With a sense of independence from a young age, after finishing college, Phuong went to work in Binh Duong , then worked at Tra Noc Industrial Park, Can Tho City. In 2024, Phuong expressed her intention to ask her mother to help look after her 2 young children so she could go to Japan to work and was supported by her family.

Ms. Hue said: “Phuong was guided to complete the documents and procedures, and participate in a Japanese language course. At the same time, she was introduced to borrow 90 million VND for expenses and go to Japan in September 2024”. Phuong was arranged accommodation with living facilities, worked 8 hours/day, and had a salary of 28-35 million VND/month, not including overtime. Ms. Hue added that her nephew is studying Korean to work in Korea. Ms. Hue actively promotes and mobilizes neighbors to boldly send their children to work abroad to have the opportunity to develop themselves and change their lives.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu in Thoi Hoa A hamlet, Thoi Lai town, Thoi Lai district, said that when she received 20 million VND from the first month's salary sent by her youngest son Nguyen Tan Hoai (29 years old, working in Japan), she was very happy. At the age of 17, Hoai dropped out of school and worked as a garment worker in Tra Noc industrial park. With a salary of 8-12 million VND/month, Hoai was enough to support her family but could not save much, so she decided to register to work in Japan in the construction industry. Ms. Thu said: "From the time Hoai completed the procedures until she went to Japan at the end of 2024, everything was very smooth and quick. Hoai often called me and showed me her place of residence and work, so I felt very secure. My husband and I saved the money Hoai sent back to build a house and get our son married later."

That is also the happiness of Ms. Tran Thi Phuong in Truong Thang commune, Thoi Lai district, whose son Phan Hieu Nghia is working in Japan; or Ms. Pham Thi Bao Tran in Trung Hung commune, Co Do district, who encouraged her son Truong Bao Phat to work in Japan... Besides having a job and a stable income, the women hope their children will seize the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills, gain experience in a modern working environment, practice discipline and professionalism to improve themselves and develop their future careers.

At the end of April 2025, more than 40 units and enterprises sending Vietnamese workers to work abroad under contracts attended a workshop organized by the City Employment Service Center. According to the units, the potential and prospects of the city's human resources are abundant, diverse, and suitable for the foreign labor market. The units wish to cooperate in vocational training, foreign languages, and recruiting workers to work in markets that require high qualifications and attractive incomes... Ms. Pham Thi Hong Van, Director of VConnect International Services Co., Ltd., Ho Chi Minh City, said that the Company is organizing the selection and training of workers to work in Japan, Taiwan, Finland, Germany... According to Mr. Nguyen Minh Toai, Head of the Representative Office of Viet International Human Resources Joint Stock Company (Vilaco) in Can Tho City, it is necessary to promote propaganda and mobilize workers and parents to change their thinking of finding jobs near home, not letting their children go far away... Only when workers thoroughly understand the meaning and practical benefits of working abroad will they actively respond and spread the effectiveness of this activity.

In addition, actively coordinate and connect reputable enterprises to quickly deploy orders suitable to the conditions of workers, organize training for labor resources, select candidates to work in Japan according to monthly "hot" orders and operate and promote the team of collaborators at the grassroots level. The City's Employment Service Center accompanies workers who register to work abroad, providing free consultation and timely support when problems arise; providing instructions on how to complete documents and procedures quickly and correctly; visiting and understanding the study and living situation of workers at the enterprise as well as their jobs and income abroad to promptly inform their families...
