In mid-May, we had the opportunity to visit Mr. Nguyen Dinh Phong's house (Tan An village, Quang Thanh commune, Quang Trach district, Quang Binh province). Going up the stairs to the second floor, what appeared before our eyes was a "miniature museum" dedicated to displaying and preserving documents and photos of Uncle Ho, General Vo Nguyen Giap, generals, heroic martyrs, and typical heroic Vietnamese mothers of the Vietnamese people...
According to Mr. Phong, he used to work for the Southern Production Corporation and was then sent to attend a tractor driving course in Hanoi. At the same time, Dai Phong Agricultural Service Cooperative was honored to receive a DT54 tractor from Uncle Ho.
This was the first tractor in Quang Binh province and he was one of the first people to drive the tractor that year. With youthful enthusiasm and a spirit of hard work and production, Mr. Phong has always achieved the title of "Plowing Master" for many consecutive years.

Mr. Phong keeps the book "Vow to follow Uncle Ho's teachings" presented by the Propaganda Department of Quang Binh Provincial Party Committee. |
In 1968, while plowing the fields, he was hit by an enemy plane, the plow flipped over, he was seriously injured, deaf in both ears, anyone who wanted to ask him anything had to write it down on paper for him to see and answer. After a period of treatment, he retired due to his inability to work and returned to his hometown to live.
In 1969, when he heard that beloved Uncle Ho had returned to the world of the wise, Mr. Phong was extremely saddened. With his special affection for Uncle Ho, he came up with the idea of collecting and preserving Uncle Ho's image as a way to remember the beloved genius leader.

Over time, Mr. Phong's collection now has more than 3,000 photos and valuable documents about Uncle Ho through each period, his birth, growth, maturity, and journey to find a way to save the country, and his revolutionary career.
Mr. Phong confided: "When the country is unified, Uncle Ho is no longer here. He spent his whole life serving the country and the people, so I have collected and found ways to preserve these images so that everyone can know, see them and display them in schools on holidays so that students can love Uncle Ho more."

The journey of collecting documents about Uncle Ho also encountered many difficulties, especially when he retired due to labor loss, had no pension in his old age, and his family's limited finances made it difficult for him to buy books, photos, and laminate them for preservation.
Sometimes he came across a good book, with valuable photos of Uncle Ho that he really wanted to collect, but the owner of the book refused to let him, neither to buy nor to sell. At that time, he had to beg to take a photo of the valuable photo, and he tried many ways to collect it. Sometimes, just because he liked a beautiful, rare photo of Uncle Ho, he bought the whole book just to get one photo.

In addition to collecting photos and documents about Uncle Ho, Mr. Phong also writes poetry and has had it printed and published by many publishers. |
Collecting documents about Uncle Ho was difficult, preserving them was even more difficult, because Tan An village where he lived was on the banks of the Gianh River, so almost every year when it rained and flooded, water would enter his house. Therefore, he prioritized moving the "miniature museum" about Uncle Ho to the second floor of the house to ensure it was dry, safe, and not damp or damaged.
As a neighbor, knowing that Mr. Phong is passionate about valuable documents about Uncle Ho, Mr. Nguyen Hong Sam (90 years old) also often helps in the collection. Every time he comes across valuable photos or documents about Uncle Ho, Mr. Sam informs Mr. Phong to find a way to add to his collection.

“Although he has no salary or income due to his disability, Mr. Phong is very passionate about documents about Uncle Ho. Every month when I receive my pension, I help Mr. Phong with a little bit to support the purchase of additional materials for this miniature library. Mr. Phong once displayed the collection at the school to spread the message, helping people understand the life, career and activities of Uncle Ho, nurturing the next generation to understand and appreciate it,” said Mr. Sam.
Each photo is selected and arranged by him according to a certain period of time. Mr. Phong's 55-year-old collection is well-known. During local celebrations, his collection is displayed at cultural houses, schools and on mobile displays in many places to introduce to everyone.
