2 days left, tickets for "Kpop king" G-Dragon's show still available, some people are selling at a loss

(Dan Tri) - There are only a few days left until G-Dragon's two-night show in Hanoi, but ticket demand seems to be lower than expected. Many tickets for November 9th have not yet sold out, and some people even have to sell them at a loss.

G-Dragon - who is known by the audience as the "King of K-pop" - is about to bring the international show G-DRAGON 2025 WORLD TOUR [Übermensch] to Vietnam on November 8-9.

G-Dragon's two shows will take place at Vinhomes Ocean Park 3 (Hung Yen), just a few months after the male singer performed at My Dinh Stadium ( Hanoi ) in June.

This comeback is considered G-Dragon's biggest comeback in Vietnam. However, contrary to the "sold-out ticket phenomenon" that has happened with international music shows in Vietnam, the ticket sales for G-Dragon's concert were not as many people expected.

As soon as tickets for the first show on November 8 were announced to be sold out, many people even said they could not access the ticket sales page because of the high traffic.

However, when the organizers unexpectedly opened an additional show on November 9, the picture changed: Ticket sales were much slower, many ticket categories were still vacant, and the situation of tickets being resold at lower prices than the original price appeared on social networks.

Many viewers shared that they had “hunted for tickets” early because they believed that G-Dragon would only perform for one night. When the organizers suddenly announced a second night, the initial feeling of exclusivity was lost, causing many people to choose to wait until the day before deciding to buy tickets, instead of rushing like before.

According to the ticket sales site Ticketbox on November 5, many ticket categories for G-Dragon's November 9 show showed "available" status, including areas with medium and low prices (Photo: Screenshot).

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, audience member Phuong Linh said that she did not have time to buy tickets for the night of November 8 due to the large number of visitors, but when she saw that there was another show, she felt more comfortable, so she did not rush to buy tickets.

“At first, I thought G-Dragon would only perform one night on November 8, so I rushed to book tickets but failed. When I heard there was an additional night on November 9, I felt less rushed and waited closer to the date to buy cheaper tickets,” Linh said.

Notably, on ticket buying and selling groups, the situation of selling tickets at a loss is also common. Many people accept to resell tickets for several hundred thousand to a million dong cheaper than the original price, just hoping to recover some of the costs.

Part of the reason is because the concert was held outdoors during the changing seasons in Hanoi, with unpredictable rainy and windy weather, causing many audience members to worry about their health and the audio-visual experience might not be complete.

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, Thuy Dung (born 1999, Hanoi) said she bought tickets early to secure a seat, but is now selling them because she is afraid of rain and wind.

“I bought my tickets early to secure a seat, but the weather is so unpredictable now, I’m afraid I might get sick if I watch outside and can’t go to work, so I want to sell them. I’ve been advertising them for a long time but they haven’t sold because most people are waiting for a deeper discount,” Dung said.

Besides personal reasons, some audience members said they were surprised when the program organizer gave them tickets for the November 9 show, even though they had previously purchased tickets for November 8.

Mr. Lam (born in 1997) said: "If I had known that the bank gave away tickets to loyal customers, I wouldn't have rushed to buy tickets like before. Now I feel a bit regretful, because I just took the trouble to buy them, and then got a free ticket, so now I have to sell some of them."

Some people are willing to resell tickets for hundreds of thousands to millions of dong cheaper than the original price, just hoping to recover some of the costs. However, many posts advertising tickets for sale all day long have not had any buyers, showing that the attraction of G-Dragon's show seems to be slowing down compared to initial expectations.

Not only regular audiences, many people who intentionally "stake tickets" also fall into a state of "restlessness".

They used to hope to make a profit in the early stages when tickets were scarce and prices were high, but now there are still many tickets and the demand for resale has decreased sharply, making the transfer difficult.

Posing as a person needing to buy tickets for the concert, Dan Tri reporter contacted a ticket seller who was looking for customers to transfer GA2B tickets for November 19.

"The price of GA2B tickets I sell is 7 million VND/pair", the seller said.

After negotiating, the seller continued to make an offer: "Original price is 7.6 million, I can reduce it by 900,000 VND more."

Dan Tri reporter noted that many ticket sellers clearly expressed their desire to transfer quickly and were willing to lower prices (Photo: Screenshot).

This phenomenon is explained by the fan community by many factors. Firstly, in the context of Hanoi's unpredictable rainy and windy weather, not everyone is willing to spend a large sum of money to see the same artist for 2 consecutive nights.

Second, the rushed sales launch and initial media campaign emphasizing “one night only” created a virtual fever effect, causing tickets to sell out quickly on the first night but reducing the appeal of the second night.

Finally, the psychology of Vietnamese audiences has also changed significantly. Fans tend to be more realistic and considerate: Instead of rushing to buy tickets because they are afraid of "running out of seats", they wait until the day to monitor the weather forecast, read the feedback of previous fans before deciding.

The phenomenon of tickets remaining close to G-Dragon's performance date in Vietnam also partly reflects the change in audience tastes and the way the domestic music market operates.

While a few years ago, just one Korean star was enough to create a “fever”, now Vietnamese audiences have become more selective. They care more about real experiences, service quality and space, instead of just relying on the artist’s name.

This is considered a positive signal, showing that the Vietnamese performance market is developing with higher requirements.
