Tung Duong: 'If I weren't a singer, I would want to be a pianist'

At the introduction of the album Vol.1 titled The Voice - Timeless , singer Tung Duong revealed for the first time about his unfinished dream. Tung Duong said if he did not become a singer, he would want to be a pianist.

However, right now I can only touch the piano but don't know how to play it, like "I dream of being a pianist but life forces me to be a singer".

Tung Duong once dreamed of becoming a pianist.

Talking about the new album, Tung Duong said this is a special project, which he put a lot of heart and effort into, and considers it a gift of gratitude to the audience who have accompanied and supported the male singer for over 20 years.

The album includes 8 songs: Alone (Lam Phuong), Lonely (Nguyen Anh 9), Regretful (Pham Duy - Huy Can), Separately in a corner of the sky (Ngo Thuy Mien), Footprints of paradise (Trinh Cong Son), Lullaby for us to mourn (Trinh Cong Son) and Will there ever be a love between us (Pham Duy - Minh Duc Hoai Trinh).

"When we finish the work and hold the results in our hands, we are only temporarily satisfied, but we dare not say we are satisfied. Somewhere there are still mistakes that we want to fix and overcome. However, I think if the singing is off-key or too loud, that is human, but if it is too perfect, it is AI," Tung Duong said.

Known for his powerful voice, but in this album, he sings much more gently and simply. He wants to find the beauty of the original spirit of music . He will sing with the mindset of an experienced artist, knowing how to step back to see the whole picture of Vietnamese music.

Tung Duong changed his singing style in the album "The Voice - Timeless".

In response to the comments about the surprising change in his singing style, Tung Duong said he is more aware of himself than anyone else. The witty singer said that he is old, no longer young enough to be an "older brother", his looks are average but he has never stopped learning, researching, creating and challenging himself in his artistic activities.

Tung Duong always proactively contacts young people to renew himself, learn from thinking, creativity and access new energy sources. He is happy that the age of his audience is gradually getting younger, there are fans who are old enough to be his children and grandchildren.
