The author of the hit "Hoang Mang" talks about the big challenge of popularizing Lam Xuan Thi's poetry

(Dan Tri) - Musician Vo Hoai Phuc - author of a series of V-pop hits such as "Hoang Mang", "Khi Co Don Em Nho Ai", "Vo Vit" - has just returned with a song based on Lam Xuan Thi's poem.

This new music project is called Con Lau 2 - the song is adapted from the poem of the same name - by poet Lam Xuan Thi.

The work marks the continuation of Vo Hoai Phuc's journey of popularizing poetry and at the same time shows a new transformation in his writing style.

If in the past, Vo Hoai Phuc's music was often associated with lyrical, profound melodies, then Con Lau 2 brings a cheerful, witty atmosphere and is full of positive energy. The song conveys a message of faith, sharing and optimistic spirit - an "emotional vitamin" that the musician wants to send to the audience.

Talking about the project, musician Vo Hoai Phuc said that he had composed music for Lam Xuan Thi’s poems many times, so he somewhat understood the “key” to entering the world of his poems. However, with each work, it is still a big challenge.

“Mr. Thi’s poems have many layers of meaning. If not implemented properly, the music will be shallow compared to the lyrics. This is probably the biggest pressure every time I set his poems to music, not just Con Lau 2 ,” he expressed.

Con Lau 2 continues to mark the successful collaboration between the two musician brothers Hoai An - Hoai Phuc. In this project, Hoai An plays the role of production director. Vo Hoai Phuc said that it is the compensation of the two brothers' personalities that makes the product always achieve balance.

“Hoai An is a perfectionist, meticulous in every detail, but when implementing new ideas, he is very "flying". At that time, I will be the one to criticize to keep everything stable and feasible. It can be said that my brother and I are a perfect pair, complementing each other a lot”, said the owner of the hit Hoang Mang .

Sharing with Dan Tri reporter, musician Vo Hoai Phuc said that he does not place too much importance on the success or failure of each project.

“Maybe my brothers and I are past the age where we have to worry or think about the concept of success. We just try to do our best in each step of the work according to the original plan,” he confided.

He also revealed that after Con Lau 2 , he will continue to release MVs based on Lam Xuan Thi's poems, and at the same time prepare to release the album Tho Ca 3 - expected to be released next year, and does not rule out the possibility of performing a live show in the future.

Once famous for Hoang Mang - the hit song associated with the name Ho Quynh Huong - Vo Hoai Phuc still keeps his composure when faced with comparisons between the present and the past.

He said: “Actually, I thought Vo Cuc would be more famous, but recently some programs reused Hoang Mang, making the song “resurrected”. That further confirmed my point of view that each song will have its own fate. I rarely care about my songs after they are released, but leave that right to the audience - the people who decide their “lifespan”.

The MV Con Lau 2 was directed by Luong Phan Hoang in the style of “light surrealism mixed with realism”, with a minimalist but sophisticated black and white tone. The story is told through visual metaphors, bringing a sense of closeness and arousing a bit of curiosity. With more than 300 compositions, many of which were considered “hits of a generation”, Vo Hoai Phuc is still tirelessly trying to renew himself through each stage.
