
Realized FDI capital in the first 10 months of 2025 reached 21.3 billion USD
According to the General Statistics Office ( Ministry of Finance ), the total foreign investment capital (FDI) registered in Vietnam as of October 31, 2025, including: newly registered capital, adjusted registered capital and capital contribution and share purchase value of foreign investors, reached 31.52 billion USD, an increase of 15.6% over the same period last year.
There were 3,321 newly licensed projects with registered capital reaching 14.07 billion USD, an increase of 21.1% over the same period last year in terms of number of projects and a decrease of 7.6% in terms of registered capital.
Adjusted registered capital: 1,206 licensed projects from previous years registered to adjust investment capital to increase by 12.11 billion USD, up 45.0% over the same period last year.
Foreign investors registered to contribute capital and purchase shares in 2,918 cases with a total capital contribution value of 5.34 billion USD, up 45.1% over the same period last year.
Foreign direct investment realized in Vietnam in the first 10 months of 2025 is estimated at 21.3 billion USD, up 8.8% over the same period last year. This is the highest amount of foreign direct investment realized in ten months in the past 5 years.
On the other hand, in the first 10 months of 2025, Vietnam's overseas investment had 148 projects newly granted investment certificates with a total capital of 742.8 million USD from Vietnam, an increase of 72.8% over the same period last year; there were 28 projects with adjusted capital with an increase of 358.2 million USD, 8.3 times higher.
Nearly 18 thousand businesses established in October
In addition to FDI capital, in October 2025, the number of newly established enterprises also achieved positive results. Accordingly, the whole country had nearly 18,000 newly established enterprises with registered capital of 172.5 trillion VND and registered labor of 93.6 thousand workers, an increase of 6.8% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 4.1% in registered capital and a decrease of 3.5% in the number of workers compared to September. Compared to the same period last year, the number of enterprises increased by 26.5%, the registered capital increased by 12.3% and the number of workers increased by 16.3%.
The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in October reached VND9.6 billion, down 2.6% compared to the previous month and down 11.2% compared to the same period last year. In addition, the country also had 11,600 enterprises returning to operation, up 7.9% compared to the previous month and up 33.9% compared to the same period in 2024.
In October, 6,065 enterprises registered to temporarily suspend business, up 32.9% over the previous month and up 11.2% over the same period in 2024; 6,771 enterprises stopped operations pending dissolution procedures, up 9.9% and up 24.8%; 4,536 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, up 8.5% and up 128.3%.
In the first 10 months of 2025, the whole country had 162.9 thousand newly registered enterprises with a total registered capital of 1,592.7 trillion VND and a total registered number of employees of 967.6 thousand, an increase of 19.7% in the number of enterprises, an increase of 21.4% in registered capital and an increase of 18.6% in the number of employees compared to the same period last year.
The average registered capital of a newly established enterprise in the first 10 months of 2025 reached 9.8 billion VND, an increase of 1.4% over the same period in 2024. The total registered capital added to the economy in the first 10 months of 2025 was 5.2 million billion VND, an increase of 98.2% over the same period in 2024.
In addition, the whole country has 92.9 thousand enterprises returning to operation (up 40.3% over the same period in 2024), bringing the total number of newly established and returning enterprises in the first 10 months of 2025 to 255.9 thousand enterprises, up 26.5% over the same period in 2024. On average, there are 25.6 thousand newly established and returning enterprises per month.
In the first 10 months of 2025, the number of enterprises temporarily suspending business was 105,400, an increase of 14.4% over the same period last year; 58,400 enterprises suspended operations pending dissolution procedures, a decrease of 8.3%; 26,800 enterprises completed dissolution procedures, an increase of 54.5%. On average, 19,100 enterprises withdrew from the market per month.
