The number of hotel searches in Hanoi increased dramatically by more than 250% right after G-Dragon announced his concert in Hanoi in November (from November 6-9), according to Booking.com data. This shows that the attraction of music is strongly boosting the demand for tourism.
In addition, when the Y-CONCERT organizers announced the performing artists in December, the number of searches for accommodation on the event days (December 19-20) increased by 60% compared to the same period last year.
According to the platform’s 2025 Travel Trends Report, 68% of Vietnamese travelers said they were inspired to travel by social media, while 33% were influenced by movies or TV shows. It can be seen that music has contributed to connecting people across borders and inspiring travel for those who love to immerse themselves in melodies.
Now, cultural and music-related content is directly influencing Vietnamese people’s travel intentions and destination choices, most clearly reflected in the music tourism trend. As a result, in 2024, 62% of tourists have traveled to attend concerts or festivals, and 38% consider music to be an important factor in deciding their journey.

“The boom in music travel is more than just a trend, it reflects a cultural shift. Music and travel both connect people and evoke emotions. Vietnamese travelers are increasingly personalizing their journeys, with 45% willing to spend more on activities and 48% willing to spend more on accommodation to enhance their experience. This reflects a generation that sees travel as a way to express themselves, celebrating creativity and individuality,” said Branavan Aruljothi, Country Manager of Booking.com in Vietnam.
In fact, over the past two years, the Vietnamese entertainment market has witnessed the explosion of many large-scale music events, from international stars such as BLACKPINK and G-Dragon, to popular domestic concert series such as Anh Trai Vuot Ngan Chong Gai and Anh Trai Say Hi, which have created a "concert fever" nationwide.
As music events become a space for community bonding, a new travel trend is also forming: Vietnamese people are willing to travel just to "live" in the concert atmosphere.
The boom in music tourism has brought new opportunities for cities to host events. Large cities such as Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang are often chosen as stops for large-scale performances. Each performance can become a gateway for visitors to explore the unique identities of each city./.
