On the afternoon of May 22, Hanoi City Police held a conference to evaluate the work of preventing and combating crimes that take advantage of delivery and postal services to commit drug-related crimes.
Evidence of the case of transporting more than 48kg of synthetic drugs from Germany to Vietnam via express delivery and postal service.
According to Hanoi Police, in recent times, drug crimes have taken advantage of express delivery and postal services to operate in a complicated manner. Hanoi Police have deployed many measures and solutions to effectively carry out prevention and suppression work.
In the past 2 years, Hanoi City Police coordinated with functional units to detect and arrest 35 cases, 57 subjects illegally buying, selling, and transporting drugs through international express delivery into Vietnam, seizing 931.53 kg of various types of synthetic drugs.
Since the beginning of 2023, authorities have arrested 15 cases, 29 subjects, and seized 658.7 kg of various synthetic drugs.
The above results have contributed to preventing the supply of drugs from abroad into Vietnam, and have been recognized and highly appreciated by all levels, sectors and people.
