Ho Chi Minh City Police received a letter of commendation from the Prime Minister

(Chinhphu.vn) - On October 25, at the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Patriotic Emulation Congress (2025-2030) organized by the City Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee, and Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ho Chi Minh City, Ho Chi Minh City Police received a letter of commendation from the Prime Minister for their outstanding achievements in fighting and destroying crime.

The Prime Minister has sent a letter of commendation to the Ho Chi Minh City Police to acknowledge and commend the achievements of the City Police in synchronously and resolutely implementing measures to combat and destroy many large-scale, organized economic and drug crime rings in recent times.

At the congress, Lieutenant General Mai Hoang, Director of Ho Chi Minh City Police, on behalf of Ho Chi Minh City Police, received a letter of commendation from the Prime Minister.

In the letter of commendation of the Prime Minister wrote:

"I am pleased to know that recently, Ho Chi Minh City Police have synchronously and resolutely deployed working measures to fight and destroy many large-scale, organized criminal, economic , and drug rings...

In particular, after discovering a drug trafficking ring from abroad to Vietnam at Tan Son Nhat International Airport on March 16, 2023, Ho Chi Minh City Police organized an investigation and thoroughly handled the subjects. To date, 434 drug gangs and crime rings have been dismantled, 2,272 defendants operating in 22 localities have been prosecuted, 596 kg of various drugs, 12 guns, etc. have been seized.

This is an outstanding achievement, demonstrating the intelligence, bravery, persistent fighting spirit, determination to fight to the end, and uncompromising attitude towards crime of the People's Public Security force in general and the Ho Chi Minh City Police in particular.

Your achievements have actively contributed to curbing and reducing crime, building drug-free communes and wards, consolidating social order, discipline, and civilization, for a peaceful and happy life for the people.

On behalf of the Government, I warmly congratulate, commend and highly appreciate the achievements of you comrades. I request the Ministry of Public Security to have a form of commendation and propose worthy rewards for the collectives and individuals who have made outstanding achievements in fighting the above-mentioned special case. At the same time, direct the functional forces to promote the achieved results, continue to fight and strongly suppress all types of crimes, especially organized and transnational drug crimes.

On this occasion, 14 individuals of the Ho Chi Minh City Police with outstanding achievements in their work also received the Military Exploit Order and the Military Exploit Order from the President.

At the congress, 37 individuals were honored to receive the First, Second and Third Class Labor Medals from the President. 9 collectives were honored to receive the Emulation Flag from the Government; 20 collectives received Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.
