Today (November 14), Ho Chi Minh City Police confirmed information about a number of cases of celebrities buying and organizing illegal use of drugs.

Specifically, the Investigation Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police has prosecuted and temporarily detained singer Chi Dan - real name Nguyen Trung Hieu, 35 years old; model and actress Andrea Aybar - Vietnamese name Nguyen Thi An or also known as An Tay, 29 years old, Spanish nationality.

The police have also prosecuted many related subjects and are continuing to investigate and expand the cases.

Regarding drug prevention and control work, Ho Chi Minh City Police said they thoroughly implement the motto "not attacking the middle, arresting the whole network, masterminds and leaders, and handling illegal drug users".

Currently, the Investigation Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police has been investigating and thoroughly handling subjects who buy drugs to organize illegal use, including models, actors, singers and people with great influence on social networks.

The Investigation Police Agency has clarified the smallest information leads; there are cases that have been investigated and proven to have been involved in the illegal buying, selling and organizing of drug use since 2021.

In another development, related to the case of a group of flight attendants transporting drugs from France to Vietnam that has attracted public attention, Ho Chi Minh City Police have coordinated with many units and police of other provinces and cities to expand the investigation.

Up to now, the police have dismantled 146 drug trafficking and transport rings and gangs operating across districts, provinces, and cities; and prosecuted 630 more suspects.
