A tragedy occurred on the day Liverpool FC paraded to celebrate their 20th Premier League title on May 27. According to The Independent , millions of people took to the streets on that day.
While the crowd was gathering, a car suddenly drove straight into the crowd at high speed. After running over some people, the car continued to move forward for a while before being stopped by the surrounding fans.
The angry crowd managed to open the car door and tried to "retaliate" against the driver. Merseyside Police intervened in time to prevent the crowd from taking actions that could endanger the suspect's life.
According to the BBC, a total of 79 people were injured in the "crazy car" incident, including 4 children. Many people were hospitalized in very serious condition. Up to now, 7 people are still hospitalized for treatment of injuries.

The identity of the driver who caused the accident was initially kept secret. But by early morning on May 30 (Vietnam time), Merseyside police announced that the suspect in the horrific accident was Paul Doyle, 53 years old.
The suspect will appear in court in Liverpool on the same day on seven charges, including six counts of causing injury with intent and one count of unsafe driving.
Paul Doyle is a former Royal Marine. He is now a businessman and father of three.
At the time of the incident, Doyle was following an ambulance on duty in his car. Then, for unknown reasons, his car crashed into a crowd, causing a series of injuries.
The incident turned Liverpool's title celebrations into a forgettable affair.
