"I feel that Bruno Fernandes wants to stay at Manchester United. He has said no to many offers. If he wants to make money, MU can find another way, instead of selling the most important player," Ruben Amorim shared about the future of his favorite student.
"I see Bruno definitely wants to stay at Man United. You never know the future but this is the clear feeling I have at the moment," the Portuguese coach added.
Previously, sources in England such as The Athletic and MEN revealed that Fernandes did not outright reject Al-Hilal's offer. The midfielder let his agent Miguel Pinho start discussions with the current SPL runner-up about the feasibility of this deal.
Bruno has been a mainstay of MU for many years. |
Al-Hilal are willing to pay Fernandes £700,000 a week, plus any transfer fee that United can agree on. The Saudi Arabian club are keen to complete the deal before the FIFA Club World Cup in the US in the middle of next month.
The move to Saudi Arabia will not affect Fernandes' international career, with Cristiano Ronaldo and Ruben Neves still being called up to the Portugal national team despite playing in the tournament.
Despite a poor season with MU, Fernandes is still the team's top scorer with 19 goals. He has just won the Sir Matt Busby award (Club's best player of the season) for the second consecutive time.
MU is said to be ready to sell all players, including Fernandes. Not playing in the European Cup next season will significantly affect the club's revenue. The "Red Devils" must seriously consider Al-Hilal's offer when Fernandes turns 30.
