The entrance exam for grade 10 of the Gifted High School, Ho Chi Minh City National University took place on May 24-25. This is the only school in Ho Chi Minh City that organizes its own entrance exam, independent of the grade 10 entrance exam organized by the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, and recruits candidates nationwide.
This year, the school received 3,509 applications. With a quota of 595, the average competition ratio for grade 10 at the school is 1/6, slightly down from 1/6.5 last year. This is one of the high schools with the highest competition ratio for admission in the city.

According to the school, the results and benchmark scores for grade 10 are expected to be announced on June 10. The admission score is the total score of four exams, specialized subjects multiplied by a coefficient of two, with no exam score below 2 points.
For specialized classes recruited by two groups, based on exam results and number of applications, the school will decide the admission score for each group.
