Announcing Lang Son province's planning, opening the big door to attract investment

On the afternoon of April 21, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended a conference to announce the planning and investment promotion of Lang Son province in 2024.

Attending the conference were Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son, Minister of Health Dao Hong Lan, Secretary of Lang Son Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Quoc Doan... Lang Son Provincial Planning for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050, was built with a breakthrough mindset and strategic vision based on the potential, strengths and comparative advantages of the province, which will open up new development spaces and opportunities; demonstrating the strong will and aspiration of the Party Committee, government and people of Lang Son province. The Provincial Planning is the basis for the province to continue to lead, direct and manage comprehensively and uniformly in socio-economic development, national defense, security, integration and foreign affairs in the area, as well as planning mechanisms and policies, building investment plans and creating driving forces for production and business development. At the same time, it opens the door to attract investment, enhances the province's position, and soon realizes the goal by 2030 that Lang Son will become a border province with a developed economy, stable society, national defense, security, and a guaranteed ecological environment. The planning also helps the province become one of the growth poles, an economic center with an economic scale and GRDP per capita in the top 5 leading provinces in the Northern midland and mountainous region; an increasingly important bridge in economic and trade connections between Vietnam, ASEAN countries, China and Europe. Lang Son province will focus on leadership, drastic direction, and synchronous implementation of Decision No. 236 dated March 19, 2024 of the Prime Minister on Approving the Planning of Lang Son province for the period 2021-2030, with a vision to 2050; strive to successfully complete the goals set out in the provincial planning. At the conference, Lang Son province announced the basic and core contents of the Lang Son Provincial Planning approved by the Prime Minister in Decision No. 236/QD-TTg dated March 19, 2024; introduced an overview of the potential, advantages, investment opportunities, investment incentive policies, list of priority investment projects; achievements in socio-economic development and some typical, characteristic, key products, OCOP products of enterprises in the province. The province also granted investment policies and investment registration certificates to 14 projects with a total investment capital of over VND 18,600 billion; awarded 9 investment memorandums of understanding with a total investment capital of over VND 21,000 billion. The planning determines the development directions of important sectors (industry, services, border gate economy and Dong Dang - Lang Son border gate economic zone, agriculture, forestry, fishery) and other sectors and fields. Regarding the plan for organizing socio-economic activities, the development planning follows the model: 1 development axis, 2 economic corridors and 3 socio-economic regions. One development axis is: Dong Dang - Huu Lung economic development axis linked to the North - South economic corridor running along the highway from Huu Nghi border gate through the expanded Lang Son city, Chi Lang and Huu Lung districts, connecting with Bac Giang and Bac Ninh provinces and the capital Hanoi. Two economic corridors include: Cao Loc economic corridor (belonging to the expanded Lang Son city) - Van Lang - Trang Dinh (along National Highway 4A, Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway, connecting with Cao Bang province); Lang Son city economic corridor expanded - Loc Binh - Dinh Lap (along National Highway 4B, Lang Son - Tien Yen expressway, connecting the eastern economic region of Lang Son province with Quang Ninh province). Three socio-economic regions include: The dynamic economic region includes the expanded Lang Son city, Chi Lang district, Huu Lung district; the eastern economic region includes Loc Binh and Dinh Lap districts; the western economic region includes Van Quan, Binh Gia, Bac Son, Van Lang and Trang Dinh districts.
