The Prime Minister approved the Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province.

(Chinhphu.vn) - Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 2359/QD-TTg dated October 24, 2025 approving the election results for the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province for the 2021-2026 term.

The new Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province is Nguyen Canh Toan.

Specifically, the Prime Minister approved the election results for the position of Chairman of the People's Committee of Lang Son province for the 2021-2026 term for Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan, Deputy Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

This decision takes effect from the date of signing (October 24, 2025).

Previously, at the Lang Son Provincial People's Council meeting on the afternoon of October 20, 2025, Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan was elected Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee with 100% of the attending delegates voting in favor. He assumed the new position replacing Mr. Ho Tien Thieu, who retired.

Mr. Nguyen Canh Toan was born on March 25, 1976, in Quynh Phu commune, Nghe An province. He holds a senior-level political theory qualification, a Master's degree in Human Resource Management, a Master's degree in Public Administration, a Bachelor's degree in Economic Law, a Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, and a Bachelor's degree in Finance and Banking.

Before becoming Deputy Director of the Organization and Personnel Department (Central Economic Committee), Mr. Toan had a long career at the State Audit Office, rising from specialist to Deputy Head of the Organization, Personnel, and Salary Department, before studying in Australia.

After six months on secondment assisting the Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises, in October 2018, Mr. Toan became Director of the Personnel and Organization Department and then Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee at Enterprises. From February 2025, he served as Deputy Secretary of the Lang Son Provincial Party Committee.
