Recognizing 4 districts reaching the new rural finish line

Specifically, in Decision No. 1004/QD-TTg dated May 26, 2025, the Prime Minister recognized Phuoc Long district, Bac Lieu province as meeting advanced new rural standards in 2024.

In Decision No. 1005/QD-TTg, 1006/QD-TTg and 1007/QD-TTg dated May 26, 2025, the Prime Minister recognized Tien Phuoc district (Quang Nam province); Tan Thanh district ( Long An province) and Vinh Hung district (Long An province) to meet new rural standards in 2024.

The Prime Minister assigned the People's Committees of Bac Lieu, Quang Nam and Long An provinces to be responsible for announcing and rewarding according to regulations; directed the People's Committees of Phuoc Long, Tien Phuoc, Tan Thanh and Vinh Hung districts to continue maintaining and improving the quality of criteria, focusing on economic and environmental criteria to ensure sustainability in new rural construction.

* It is known that since 2017, Phuoc Long is the first district of Bac Lieu province to be recognized by the Prime Minister as meeting new rural standards. Up to now, the district has 100% of advanced new rural communes, 5/7 model new rural communes and 2 communes recognized as meeting type V urban standards and Phuoc Long town is recognized as meeting urban civilization standards. The district has many highly effective production models such as rice-shrimp model, model of bringing color to the fields, model of raising le le, raising snakes... Agricultural production models are all aimed at clean agriculture, organic agriculture according to VietGap, ASC, IRRI criteria to meet export needs. In 2024, the average income per capita in 7/7 communes will reach more than 102 million VND/person/year (an increase of more than 58 million VND compared to 2017)... After 7 years of efforts and struggles, Phuoc Long district has completed all 9 criteria with 38 component indicators according to the National Criteria Set for districts meeting advanced new rural standards...

Up to now, Tien Phuoc district has 14/14 communes recognized by the People's Committee of Quang Nam province as meeting new rural standards, reaching 100%. Of which, Tien Canh and Tien Phong communes have been recognized as meeting advanced new rural standards. 24/63 villages have been recognized as meeting model new rural standards. Tien Ky town has been recognized as meeting civilized urban standards. Currently, the average income per capita/year in the district has reached 58.6 million VND/person/year. The multidimensional poverty rate in 14 communes in Tien Phuoc has decreased to 2.25%.

For Tan Thanh district, Long An province, up to now, 12/12 communes in the district have met the new rural standards, of which 4 communes have met the advanced new rural standards and Tan Thanh town has met the civilized urban standards. The satisfaction rate of people in the district with the results of new rural construction has reached over 99.75%. People using electricity regularly and safely has reached 99.93%; households implementing the model of classifying solid waste at source has reached 79.24%; people using clean water according to standards has reached 87.14%. Up to now, Tan Thanh district has no outstanding debt for basic construction in new rural construction.

As for Vinh Hung district, the whole district has 9/9 communes meeting new rural standards, of which 1 commune meets advanced new rural standards and Vinh Hung town meets civilized urban standards. The satisfaction rate of people in the district with the results of new rural construction reached more than 99.85%. Households with solid and semi-solid houses reached 100%; households using clean water meeting standards reached 90.92%; average income per capita in 2024 reached 62.05 million VND/year; poor households remained 1.68%;...
