When agricultural products meet technology
The resilience of Thai Nguyen agricultural products in the digital market does not come from the mere number of orders, but is formed from a synchronous, creative and visionary trade promotion strategy. From traditional fairs such as: "Industry and Trade - OCOP Thai Nguyen 2025", "Union Tet Market 2025" to international exchange programs with Korea, the province continuously expands promotional opportunities, helping products get closer to customers, investors and potential partners.
In addition to traditional activities, e-commerce is identified as a “strategic direction”, helping local products access a large, flexible and effective market. The “Ban Viet - Thai Nguyen” booth on Shopee, built by the Ban Viet Cooperative in collaboration with the province, has posted 94 products and product sets, organized 125 livestream sessions, and successfully sold 1,140 orders.
Ms. Bui Thi Hai Yen, Director of Ban Viet Cooperative, shared: We determined that the "Ban Viet - Thai Nguyen" booth on Shopee must be professional and effective. Every day, there is a livestream to introduce products, combined with Facebook to guide customers to place orders. More than 1,140 orders are not just sales, but an opportunity for Thai Nguyen agricultural products to reach modern customers, increase value and open up a direction for sustainable development.
Another widespread initiative is the e-commerce street on Luong Ngoc Quyen Street, where 162 traditional businesses are trained to operate booths on Shopee and TikTok Shop.
This model helps small businesses transition to digital business, from product posting skills, order management to livestream sales. Thereby creating a dynamic environment, helping each product to both maintain local identity and have the opportunity to reach the national market.

Not only on Shopee, Thai Nguyen also utilizes TikTok as a “digital market”. Programs such as “Thai Nguyen OCOP Market 2025” or “Thai Nguyen Digital Custard Apple and Agricultural Products in 2025” bring authentic experiences to consumers. Each livestream session is a journey from garden to table, where customers can follow the production and processing process, understand more about the quality, origin and culture of the product.
Building a sustainable brand
Behind the impressive growth figures is the synchronous support of the government and management agencies. The Department of Industry and Trade of Thai Nguyen has coordinated with the People's Committees of localities to survey, propagate, and mobilize businesses to participate in the e-commerce street. At the same time, it organized training courses on skills to open booths, build images, and operate on digital platforms. This companionship helps small businesses and cooperatives quickly catch up with new business trends, gradually forming a systematic digital commerce mindset.
Along with Shopee, Thai Nguyen is expanding its operations on other platforms such as Lazada, Tiki, Zalo Shop, combining international online fairs, specialized exhibitions and offline booths at major events. This is a "parallel" strategy that both maintains direct interaction with customers and strongly develops the digital market, aiming for multi-channel, multi-platform goals.
According to information from Data Science Joint Stock Company, Thai Nguyen's sales in the first 10 months of 2025 on Shopee are estimated to reach more than 997 billion VND. This figure shows commercial efficiency and reflects innovation in economic development thinking, where technology becomes a "lever" to increase product value.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, emphasized: Success on Shopee is an important breakthrough, but what has a deeper meaning is the way Thai Nguyen connects local products with technology. Each order on Shopee is an opportunity for the locality to build the image, culture and long-term value of the Thai Nguyen brand in the digital economy.
Along with boosting sales, Thai Nguyen focuses on training digital skills for businesses and cooperatives. Training courses on livestream skills, booth management, and customer care are held regularly, helping to form a professional sales team with the ability to create content and marketing in line with consumer trends.
Ms. Ma Thi Ninh, Director of Yen Duong Cooperative (Thuong Minh Commune), said: 100% of our products have clear traceability codes, showing the production process, production date, expiry date and raw material area. Currently, over 90% of the Cooperative's revenue comes from digital platforms such as Shopee, Facebook, Zalo, TikTok. Thanks to that, the Cooperative is both transparent in information, expanding the market, enhancing reputation and affirming product quality.
Bringing Thai Nguyen products to Shopee marks a strong step forward in the province's digital transformation. In the coming time, the locality will continue to expand to other e-commerce platforms, while supporting cooperatives, businesses and business households to improve their skills in operating booths, livestreaming and customer care.
The goal is to build a sustainable brand for agricultural products and OCOP products, contributing to making Thai Nguyen a bright spot in e-commerce in the Northern Midlands and Mountains region.
Thai Nguyen is proving that when local agricultural products are combined with technology, each OCOP product can serve the domestic market well and expand to international consumers. Sales of nearly 1,000 billion VND on Shopee are not simply economic results, but also proof of the right development direction where creativity, identity and technology together create the "digital brand" of Thai Nguyen on the map of Vietnam's e-commerce.
