Compulsory land acquisition for Xiep stream dredging project

The authorities forcibly recovered land from Mrs. Nguyen Thi Huynh's household with a part of the land area at plot number 109 on cadastral map sheet 38, Buu Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city with an area of ​​nearly 720m2 ^. This area is located in the area of ​​the dredging project on the left bank of Xiep stream through Dong Nai province. The authorities have carried out the compulsory procedures according to regulations and at the same time handed over the land to the investor to implement the project.

According to Mr. Chu Tien Dung, Deputy Director of the Land Fund Development Center of Dong Nai province, the total recovered area of ​​more than 3.8 hectares in Dong Nai has been basically completed with 76/79 organizations and individuals whose recovered areas have handed over the land, reaching nearly 90% of the area to be recovered.

Currently, there is 1 individual and 2 business units in Hoa An ward that have not yet handed over the premises and the Dong Nai Province Land Fund Development Center is carrying out the next procedures to complete the handover of the premises in May.

The Xiep Stream Dredging Project is nearly 3.6km long. Of which, the section bordering the two provinces of Binh Duong and Dong Nai is nearly 2.3km long, including the right bank belonging to Tan Dong Hiep ward and Binh An ward, Di An city, Binh Duong province; the left bank belonging to Hoa An ward and Buu Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province.

This is a project that has been ongoing since 2017 and has not been completed due to problems with site clearance. It is worth mentioning that due to the delay in the project, in recent years the National Highway 1K area adjacent to Bien Hoa City and Di An City has always been in a state of severe flooding every time there is heavy rain due to the blockage of the Xiep stream. Even hundreds of households along the stream have been severely flooded and there have been tragic drowning accidents during the rainy season along the Xiep stream.

Faced with this situation, on March 17, the Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Nai and Binh Duong provinces held a meeting and agreed to coordinate the construction of a culvert across National Highway 1K and downstream before the flood season to ensure flood drainage. At the same time, the Xiep stream will be completed in 2025.
