Mr. Tran Trong Tuan, one of the people who directly rescued the child, said: “We discovered the child drifting near the foot of the Dragon Bridge, in front of the Cham Sculpture Museum. Another young man and I climbed over the railing, held onto the iron edge, and reached out to hold the child’s hand as he was trying to lift it up. After a few seconds of struggling, with the help of another person, all three of us pulled the child to shore. The whole thing only took about 45 seconds.”

According to a clip recorded at the scene, when the boy was brought to the sidewalk, he was panicked and could not speak. People quickly provided first aid and posted information on social media to find relatives. More than 15 minutes later, the boy's family, residing in An Hai ward ( Da Nang ), came to receive him and took him to the hospital for a health check.

By this morning, October 30, Ms. THT, (living in An Hai ward, Da Nang) - the mother of the boy floating in the rushing water of the Han River, said: "On the evening of October 29, while working in the house, she heard the door open. Thinking that her son had run to the grocery store near her house to get candy like every day, she hurriedly went out in the rain to look for him. After more than an hour of wandering around the alleys, calling until her voice was hoarse but still not finding any trace of her son, she began to panic.

At around 9:45 p.m., she received news on social media that a boy was floating on the Han River and had just been rescued by people in time. She suspected it was her son, so she rushed to the area at the foot of the Dragon Bridge. At the scene, she saw her son being given first aid by people, his whole body was soaked, panicked but still conscious.

Ms. THT added: "My child is a special child, he doesn't communicate much with words. He loves water so much that he climbed over the railing of the Dragon Bridge and fell into the river. He didn't drift from Quang Nam as social media said."

According to many people, the location where the child was discovered and promptly rescued was about 1km from home.
