According to Kampuchea Thmey , Tes Sambath had an accident on April 20. He and his motorbike lost control and fell into the Sak Sampov River (Phnom Penh). It took several hours for the rescue team and local people to bring the body and motorbike to shore.

"I don't believe this is true. Sambath is too young," former Cambodian coach Keisuke Honda was shocked when he heard the news.
