The leader of the Traffic Police Department of Da Nang City Police said that the Ho Chi Minh Highway - the section from Thanh My Commune to Kham Duc Commune, Lo Xo Pass, Phuoc Nang Commune was opened to one lane of traffic on the night of November 18 and early morning of November 19. However, due to the high risk of landslides when heavy rain continues, the Traffic Police force still increased patrols and reminded drivers to pay attention to safety when traveling through landslide areas.



Due to prolonged heavy rain, landslides occurred at many locations on Ho Chi Minh road from Thanh My commune to Kham Duc and Phuoc Nang communes, causing traffic congestion on November 17 and 18. Dozens of vehicles and more than 300 people were trapped at the landslide sites.
Following the direction of the leaders of the Traffic Police Department of Da Nang City Police, officers and soldiers of Road Traffic Police Team No. 3 carried out traffic regulation work, provided necessities and drinking water to help people trapped in landslides.
The image of a traffic police officer, regardless of the rain and wind, overcoming landslides to reach people trapped on Ho Chi Minh road left a deep impression and was recognized and praised by the people.


Meanwhile, due to continued landslides occurring in many locations, by the morning of November 19, Highway 40B connecting Tra My commune to the mountainous commune of Nam Tra My was blocked. Traffic police have put up warning signs and coordinated with relevant units to urgently overcome the landslides to clear the route as soon as possible.
According to the Central Hydrometeorological Station, from the morning of November 19 to the end of November 20, in the communes and wards in the North of Da Nang City, there will be rain, moderate rain, some places will have heavy rain to very heavy rain and thunderstorms, with rainfall ranging from 40-80mm, some places will have over 120mm; in the communes and wards in the South, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, some places will have very heavy rain and thunderstorms with rainfall ranging from 70-150mm, some places will have over 200mm. It is necessary to guard against flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas; beware of whirlwinds, lightning and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
