Airfares have increased during the April 30 and May 1 holidays, causing many families to reconsider traveling , especially to annual destinations like Da Nang.
Mr. Nguyen Ngoc Thien - Deputy General Director of Hai Van Cat International Travel Joint Stock Company - said that since the beginning of the year, the company has pre-booked airline tickets to reserve seats and keep good prices for customers, especially during festivals and events. In addition, the company also offers 3 product packages: one package includes airline tickets and hotel rooms. The second package is airline tickets, hotels and sightseeing tickets, the third package is all-inclusive.
With the high price of air tickets, some businesses are now shifting to pick up passengers by rail and road, in nearby provinces. With railways, especially the operation of the Hue - Da Nang train at the end of March, it is a new product, quite attractive to tourists.
This summer, Mr. Thien's business also focuses on exploiting customers in localities close to Da Nang such as the North Central and South Central regions, where customers can travel by road in a short time.
“We have invested in enough vehicles to be ready to dispatch from Da Nang to neighboring provinces to pick up guests. In addition, hotels must have parking lots to serve guests who travel by personal vehicles,” said Mr. Thien.
Following the trend of welcoming passengers by rail and road instead of just relying on air passengers, Mr. Tran Chi Cuong - Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee - said that in the summer of 2024, the city will have many activities such as the international fireworks festival, Asian film festival, Southeast Asian student sports festival... which are expected to create a big effect to attract tourists to the city.
However, the locality also identified difficulties in transporting tourists due to objective factors. Therefore, Da Nang is researching and looking for solutions with transport units to meet the needs and desires of tourists during the events.
Accordingly, Da Nang will focus on stimulating demand, welcoming rail and road passengers and linking tourism with localities such as Thua Thien - Hue and Quang Nam. Most recently, the Da Nang Tourism Department has signed a cooperation agreement with the Vietnam Railway Corporation and businesses to develop train tourism products, increasing the choice of means of transport for tourists to Da Nang.
“Recently, the train named “Connecting Central Heritage” was put into operation, showing the potential of railway passengers. I hope businesses and travel agencies will survey and include it in the experience program for customers because this is a typical product of the three localities,” said Mr. Cuong.
