Statistics on the mulberry area in Da Teh district currently show more than 1,522.32 hectares, of which 97% use S7-CB, TBL-03 mulberry varieties, with mulberry leaf yield of 25.5 tons/ha/year, an increase of 13.6% in area and an increase of 6 tons/ha/year in yield compared to 2019.
Da Teh district also has 5 concentrated silkworm breeding facilities, providing quality seed sources for the production needs of 2,830 households with over 7,000 local workers. Since 2019, Da Teh district has attracted investment in silkworm incubation factories to consume cocoons on-site for farmers, averaging 3 tons/day.
In addition, Da Teh district has 6 cooperatives linking 98 households to produce 70 hectares of mulberry, consuming about 107 tons of silkworm cocoons annually.
The application of science and technology in mulberry cultivation and silkworm raising is increasingly popular in Da Teh district such as: automatic irrigation system, harvesting mulberry branches by machine, using high-tech silkworm cages, raising large silkworms on the floor,... achieving revenue of over 220 million VND/ha/year.
