Attending the program were comrades: Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Executive Committee, Director of the Department of Culture - Sports and Tourism; Phan Sy Cuong - Vice Chairman of the Provincial Fatherland Front Committee; leaders of Nghia Dan district and a large number of people of Nghia Lac commune.

Speaking at the opening of the Program, Comrade Tran Thi My Hanh - Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism stated: Since 2008, the Government has decided to choose April 19 every year as the Cultural Day of Vietnamese Ethnic Groups. Over the past 15 years, across the country, people of 54 ethnic groups from mountainous areas to plains, border areas to islands have organized many rich, specific and practical activities to honor and promote the values of ethnic culture.

The Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day has created a colorful cultural picture, becoming a potential endogenous strength, contributing significantly to the construction and socio -economic development in each locality.

Over the past years, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism has advised on the implementation and organization of many cultural, sports and tourism events of different scales. In particular, many cultural and artistic activities are aimed at the grassroots, serving ethnic minority and mountainous areas. Thereby, contributing with localities to develop the movement and life of culture, arts and sports at the grassroots level, especially in the Western Nghe An region where the Thai, Tho, Mong, Kho Mu and O Du ethnic groups live.

This year, the art program to celebrate the Vietnamese Ethnic Culture Day has the theme "50 years of great victory - 54 ethnic groups in one family", associated with the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification.

This is an opportunity for people of all ethnic groups to meet and exchange, thereby looking back and becoming more aware of preserving and promoting national cultural values, aiming to build an advanced Vietnamese national culture with strong identity, contributing to affirming the aspirations and goals of the nation's rising era.

The art program “50 years of great victory - 54 ethnic groups as one family” includes many unique singing, dancing and music performances that recreate the heroic history and resounding victories of the nation through important milestones, honoring the spirit of solidarity and patriotism. At the same time, honoring the cultural diversity and solidarity of the 54 ethnic groups of Vietnam.
