According to the Organizing Committee, the event "Connecting OCOP products for the first time in Ho Chi Minh City" plays an important role as a bridge to bring OCOP products closer to the consumer market of the largest city in the country; at the same time, spreading the economic and cultural values of the regions to the domestic and foreign communities. The event contributes to promoting consumption, expanding the distribution system; strengthening trade connections between OCOP subjects with retail, processing, logistics enterprises and consumers; thereby enhancing the brand, increasing the competitiveness of typical, traditional and innovative products.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the program, Mr. Nguyen Toan Thang, Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ho Chi Minh City, emphasized: "The program 'One Commune One Product - OCOP' is not only a key task of the New Rural Development Program but also a driving force for regional linkage, promoting the formation of typical commodity value chains, improving product quality, creating jobs, increasing income and spreading local cultural identity".

Specifically, the City will focus on 4 basic groups of issues: perfecting institutions and enhancing the capacity of subjects; promoting consumption and expanding export markets; linking OCOP products with tourism; and strengthening the value chain linkage model".
In particular, in the opening program, the event Organizing Committee coordinated with the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Vung Tau ward to launch and call on organizations and individuals to contribute and support people in the Central provinces and cities that suffered heavy damage caused by floods.
Within the framework of the event, on November 29, a workshop will take place: "Promoting the development of OCOP value chains, connecting consumption and promoting brands". At the workshop, delegates and experts will conduct in-depth analysis and propose practical solutions on: improving product quality; developing value chains and traceability; building and managing brands; expanding domestic and international consumption markets.
