On March 2, confirming with Zing, Mr. Nguyen Huu Duong (aka the beer tycoon), Chairman of Hoa Binh Company Limited, and owner of the gold-plated hotel Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake, said he will competitively offer this hotel for sale in March with a starting price of 250 million USD .
According to Mr. Duong, the reason for selling this hotel is because the social housing project of the enterprise has not been granted a construction permit by the government, leading to the enterprise falling into a difficult cash flow situation and having to sell assets to resolve liquidity.
Dolce by Wyndham Hanoi Golden Lake Hotel is the first gold-plated hotel in Hanoi , located on the banks of Giang Vo Lake (Dong Da District). The hotel was inaugurated in July 2020 after about 18 months of construction with an investment of more than 100 million USD .
This hotel has all the exterior tiles covered with 24k gold. Not only that, the inside of the lobby door, elevator door, interior... are also covered with gold.
According to the investor, the hotel has 24 floors with 360 rooms. The standard room area is 40-48 m2, the higher-class room is about 70-90 m2. The most luxurious is the 184 m2 presidential suite that can accommodate up to 10 guests; the Royal penthouse has an area of 170 m2...
In the business world, Mr. Nguyen Huu Duong is known as the first person to establish a private beer production company in Hanoi. Later, he entered the real estate sector with many large projects such as Hoa Binh Green City, Hoa Binh Green Apartment, Hoa Binh Green Da Nang Complex...
In April 2022, at the opening ceremony of the model house of the social housing project built nationwide by Hoa Binh Group, Mr. Duong said that from now on, the company will only build social housing. In 2022, the group plans to start construction of 10,000 social housing units in Hanoi and Bac Ninh.
For other localities, Hoa Binh proposed a mechanism for enterprises to pay for site clearance and negotiate with people with government support to create land funds for social housing construction in the coming time.
However, up to now, because the social housing projects of the enterprise have not been granted construction permits by the government, the enterprise has fallen into a difficult situation regarding cash flow.
