The three admission methods of Hanoi University of Science and Technology include: talent selection (XTTN), selection based on Thinking Assessment test scores (ĐGTD), and selection based on high school graduation exam scores (THPT).
In addition, Hanoi University of Science and Technology conducts statistics and analyzes admission data of the past 3 years, different admission combinations, analyzes the XTTN score distribution by area, TSA test score distribution, high school graduation exam score distribution with the original combination A00 (Math-Physics-Chemistry) to determine the correlation percentile range.
On that basis, the expert team has built a correlation table between university admission methods of Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Hanoi University of Science and Technology announced a plan to convert equivalent benchmark scores between admission methods. |
Accordingly, the top % of high school graduation exam scores is calculated based on the total score of the original admission combination A00 (Math-Physics-Chemistry) for candidates with scores from the floor score to the highest score (30 points); Top % of XTTN scores 1.2 and 1.3 are calculated based on the total number of candidates with scores according to the XTTN method from the floor score to the highest score (100 points); Top % of DGTD scores is calculated based on the total number of candidates with TSA scores from the floor score to the highest score (100 points). The floor score is announced annually by Hanoi University of Science and Technology.
The correlation table of standard scores between admission methods of Hanoi University of Science and Technology is as follows:

According to Hanoi University of Science and Technology, the specific percentile values of the above Table will be calculated based on the XTTN score, TSA score, 2025 high school graduation exam score and academic results of students admitted according to the corresponding admission methods.
For other high school graduation exam score combinations other than the original combination A00 above, Hanoi University of Science and Technology will also calculate based on the corresponding difference in scores announced by the Ministry of Education and Training along with the high school graduation exam scores.
From the correlation table with specific percentile score range values, the conversion function between different admission methods will be interpolated. Accordingly, from the standard score in the percentile range of this admission method, it will be interpolated to the standard score in the corresponding percentile range of another admission method.
Example of how to calculate equivalent benchmark conversion for 2024 data:
This university has built a table of correlation between standard scores between admission methods in 2024 as follows:
![]() |
For example, in 2024, the benchmark score (admission score) of the MS2 program/major - Microelectronics Engineering and Nanotechnology of Hanoi University of Science and Technology according to the GDTD method is 71.68 points (x = 71.68).
Thus, this benchmark score will be in the 3rd percentile (Interval 3), with the value of the GPA from [68.55 - 74.77). Then the equivalent benchmark score for the high school graduation exam score will be in the corresponding interval (Interval 3) with the value of the high school graduation exam score from (27.14 - 28.04). From there, this university determines the corresponding conversion coefficients to be:
a = 68.55; b = 74.77; c = 27.14; d = 28.04
Applying the interpolation formula to calculate the equivalent standard score for the high school graduation exam score y from the DGTD standard score x = 71.68 will be calculated as follows:
