Nagasaki University (Japan) discussed a scientific research cooperation plan with Pasteur Institute Nha Trang.

On the afternoon of July 30, a delegation from Nagasaki University (Japan) visited and discussed plans for scientific research cooperation with the Pasteur Institute in Nha Trang.

At the program, representatives of Nha Trang Pasteur Institute and Nagasaki University introduced the organizational structure, professional strengths, research capacity and priority areas of each side; reviewed the outstanding cooperation results over the past 20 years, especially in the fields of epidemiological surveillance, infectious disease research, vaccine clinical trials, staff training, etc. On that basis, the two sides discussed continuing to promote the effectiveness of existing cooperation, focusing on a number of key tasks: In-depth research, expanding training programs; applying advanced technology in disease surveillance and prevention.

Also at the program, Professor Nagayasu Takeshi - President of Nagasaki University presented the decision to appoint the title of Visiting Professor of Nagasaki University to Dr. Do Thai Hung - Director of Pasteur Institute Nha Trang. The decision is effective from June 1, 2025 to March 31, 2026 and will be considered for annual extension based on work performance and practical cooperation needs between the two sides. In the role of visiting professor, Dr. Do Thai Hung will undertake important tasks: Promoting scientific research cooperation programs, clinical trials and biomedical technology transfer between the two sides; guiding graduate students and doctoral students of Nagasaki University during their internship and research at Pasteur Institute Nha Trang; participating in teaching and sharing professional knowledge at Nagasaki University.

To date, the Pasteur Institute of Nha Trang has 1 PhD and 1 master's degree graduates from Nagasaki University; 1 graduate student and 1 master's student are studying at the school. It is expected that in September, 1 more graduate student and 1 master's degree will come to study and research here.
