
This program aims to introduce the European Union's global research cooperation framework and promote international integration capacity for Vietnamese lecturers and scientists .
In her opening speech, Professor, Dr. Nguyen Thi Thanh Mai, Vice President of Ho Chi Minh City National University, said that Ho Chi Minh City National University is taking on an important role in training human resources for the socio -economic development strategy.
At the same time, aiming to be in the top 100 universities in Asia by 2030. To achieve this goal, Ho Chi Minh City National University strengthens international cooperation, especially in major global research networks. Lecturers and scientists of Ho Chi Minh City National University are encouraged to participate in international projects, improve research capacity and publish in the world's leading journals.
According to Mr. Hoang Huu Hanh, Deputy Director of the National Digital Transformation Agency, Ho Chi Minh City National University is one of the leading units in research and training. With the State's policy of promoting science and technology clearly expressed in Resolution 57-NQ/TW, cooperation with the European Union is an appropriate and timely step.
According to Mr. Hoang Huu Hanh, the goal of Horizon Europe is to improve research capacity, the quality of scientific works and promote international cooperation. In particular, Ho Chi Minh City National University is expected to play a core role in connecting Vietnamese research groups with the European network, contributing to creating scientific products with high application value for sustainable development.

Mr. Trevor O'Regan, Head of the EU-Vietnam Cooperation Programme, said that the workshop is part of a series of cooperation activities between the Ministry of Science and Technology of Vietnam and the European Union to promote research, innovation and application of research results into practice.
Mr. Trevor O'Regan affirmed that Horizon Europe will continue to support Vietnamese organizations and institutes in finding partners, completing research proposals and accessing European funding sources.
With a total budget of 95.5 billion euros for the period 2021-2027, Horizon Europe is the EU's largest research and innovation funding programme, aimed at tackling global challenges such as climate change, clean energy, digital transformation and sustainable development.
The “Horizon Europe” conference not only opens up opportunities to access the world’s leading research funds but also affirms the increasingly strong position of Ho Chi Minh City National University in the international academic cooperation network.
Through connection programs such as EURAXESS and Horizon Europe, the team of lecturers and scientists contributes to realizing the goal of building Ho Chi Minh City National University into a leading center of knowledge and innovation in the region.
