The First Congress of Delegates of the Ca Mau Provincial Farmers' Association: Building a strong farmers' association, confidently entering a new era.

On the morning of December 16th, the Ca Mau Provincial Farmers' Association held its first Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term (the Congress), with the participation of 252 out of 254 exemplary delegates representing over 150,000 farmers and association members in the province. Attending the Congress were Phan Nhu Nguyen, Alternate Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam and Standing Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Farmers' Association; Pham Van Thieu, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Ho Thanh Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province; and Le Van Su, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee.

Leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, together with provincial leaders, presented the decisions appointing personnel to the Ca Mau Provincial Farmers' Association for the 2025-2030 term.

During the 2023-2025 term, the work of the Farmers' Association and the farmers' movement achieved many important results, meeting and exceeding 15 out of 15 targets set in the Resolution. Farmers' Associations at all levels focused on building clean and strong organizations.

The "Farmers Competing in Excellent Production and Business" movement continues to spread widely, giving rise to many effective production models and enabling many farmers to legitimately become wealthy, contributing to sustainable poverty reduction. Farmers' associations at all levels actively encourage members to participate in the development of the collective economy , establishing many cooperative groups and cooperatives; applying science, technology, and digital transformation in agricultural production.

Provincial leaders presented a congratulatory banner to the Congress.

With the motto "Unity - Democracy - Creativity - Development," the Congress determined that the 2025-2030 term will continue to build a strong and comprehensive Farmers' Association; promote the leading and central role of farmers in the development of ecological agriculture and modern rural areas; accelerate the application of science and technology and digital transformation; and develop the collective economy and value chain linkages. Through this, it will contribute to increasing farmers' incomes, improving their living standards, and building a more modern, civilized, and sustainable rural Ca Mau; gradually leading Ca Mau province into a new era of comprehensive and sustainable development.

Mr. Phan Nhu Nguyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, delivered a speech at the Congress.

Speaking at the Congress, Phan Nhu Nguyen, Standing Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association, highly appreciated the efforts and achievements of the Ca Mau Provincial Farmers' Association during the past term; and at the same time, expressed his hope that the Provincial Farmers' Association would continue to strengthen its organization and build an operational mechanism suitable to the new situation; innovate organizational methods, and improve the quality and effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements among farmer members.

Ho Thanh Thuy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, delivered a speech guiding the Congress.

Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ca Mau province, Ho Thanh Thuy, urged all levels of farmers' associations in the province to focus on building strong organizations, improving the quality of their staff, and continuing to streamline and consolidate the organization in a way that is efficient and effective. She also called for promoting the application of digital technology in the management, operation, and activities of all levels of the association; and leveraging local strengths to develop the agricultural and rural economy; focusing on effectively exploiting industries such as marine economy, aquaculture and seafood processing, and traditional crafts. Furthermore, she emphasized strengthening the implementation of solutions to protect the environment and build a bright, green, clean, beautiful, and safe rural landscape.

Delegates vote to approve the Congress Resolution.

The Congress announced decisions on personnel matters of the Central Standing Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association. Accordingly, the Executive Committee of the Ca Mau Provincial Farmers' Association for the 2025-2030 term consists of 55 members; the Standing Committee consists of 9 members. Mr. Nguyen Hoang Thoai was re-appointed as Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association for the 2025-2030 term. The delegation to the higher-level Congress consists of 15 official delegates and 3 alternate delegates.

Permanent Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association Phan Nhu presented the "For the Vietnamese Peasant Class" commemorative medal to individuals.

On this occasion, the Central Committee of the Vietnam Farmers' Association awarded the "For the Vietnamese Peasant Class" commemorative medal to outstanding individuals who have made positive contributions to the development of the peasant class in the province.
