The 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Hanoi in 2024 is expected to be held in the last two days of October 2024. This is an important political and social activity of ethnic minorities, affirming the attention of the Party, State and Hanoi City to ethnic affairs and ethnic policies.

Head of the Hanoi Ethnic Minorities Committee Nguyen Nguyen Quan, Deputy Head of the Congress Steering Committee, said that the Organizing Committee is actively preparing for the Congress. One of the most important contents is the construction, collection of comments, and completion of the political report to be presented to the Congress.

According to the draft, the political report of the 4th Congress of Ethnic Minorities in Hanoi will consist of 3 parts. Part I: Ethnic situation and ethnic minority areas; Part II: Achievements and results of ethnic work and ethnic policies in the 2019-2024 period; Part III: Goals, tasks and solutions for ethnic work and ethnic policies in the 2024-2029 period.

Contributing his opinion at the conference, Dr. Vu Huu Hoat, former Head of the Propaganda Department (Ethnic Committee) assessed that the structure of the Congress's political report was quite complete. However, the report's content is still long and needs to be researched and filtered to be more concise. At the same time, it is important to clarify the contributions of ethnic minorities to the overall results...

In a related aspect, former Head of the Hanoi Ethnic Minority Committee Nguyen Van Son proposed that the data and cited documents should be carefully reviewed to avoid duplication of information. At the same time, the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the implementation of development goals for ethnic minority areas should be analyzed more deeply.

Meanwhile, former Head of the Hanoi Ethnic Minority Committee Nguyen Tat Vinh recommended clarifying the context of the implementation of the resolution of the 3rd Hanoi Ethnic Minority Congress (2019 - 2024), especially the importance of the National Target Program on socio -economic development of ethnic minority areas.

“Regarding the National Target Program, Hanoi is assessed by the Ethnic Committee as the leading locality in the country in implementing it. In particular, there have been many specific mechanisms and policies to concretize it. This is the content that needs to be emphasized to affirm Hanoi's interest in ethnic work…” - Mr. Nguyen Tat Vinh emphasized.

According to the Head of the Hanoi Ethnic Minorities Committee Nguyen Nguyen Quan, the work of building the Congress's political report has been given attention and directed to be implemented early, methodically, and scientifically, from the stage of building and completing the detailed outline, to sending it to ask for opinions from the city's departments, central agencies, scientists, etc.
