The 1st Congress of the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee: Affirming the role of the core leadership in the new period

(GLO)- On the morning of August 22, in Quy Nhon ward, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee solemnly held the 1st Congress of Delegates for the 2025-2030 term with the participation of 300 official delegates representing 10,813 Party members from 74 affiliated grassroots Party organizations.

Attending the Congress were comrades: Ho Quoc Dung - Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Nguyen Ngoc Dung - Deputy Head of Department of Localities 2, Central Organizing Committee; Rah Lan Chung - Standing Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Council; Nguyen Ngoc Luong - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee; comrades of the Provincial Party Standing Committee; representatives of the Standing Committee of the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial National Assembly Delegation, and the Provincial Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee.

Speaking at the opening of the Congress, Comrade Pham Anh Tuan - Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee - emphasized: The Congress took place at a time of special significance, after Gia Lai province was established according to the Central's decision, opening up new opportunities for development.

The establishment of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee is a correct policy, aiming to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party organization in state administrative agencies, meeting the requirements of tasks in the new situation.

This Congress focused on evaluating the results of Party building and leadership in implementing political tasks in the past time; determining directions, goals and solutions for the 2025-2030 term, focusing on striving for an average GRDP increase of 10-10.5%/year, based on 5 growth pillars and 4 breakthroughs; at the same time, discussing and contributing opinions to draft documents submitted to the Provincial Party Congress and the 14th National Party Congress.

With the motto "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", the Congress created an important mark, affirming the core leadership role of the Provincial Party Committee, contributing to the rapid and sustainable development of Gia Lai in the new period.

Following the direction of the Central and Provincial Party Committees, the Party Committee has led and directed the implementation of many key tasks, notably striving for a GRDP growth rate of 7.3-7.6% in 2025, contributing to maintaining growth momentum with the whole country.

Party building, organizational consolidation, promoting the role of specialized agencies, inspection, supervision, mass mobilization, and mass organizations have all seen positive changes in the past term.

For the 2025-2030 term, the Congress set a target of an average GRDP growth rate of 10-10.5%/year, GRDP per capita of 6,300-6,500 USD, and an urbanization rate of over 45%.

By 2030, the whole province will have 94 communes meeting new rural standards, of which at least 34 communes will meet advanced standards; welcoming about 18.5 million tourists, including 1.1 million international visitors.

The Party Committee also identified five development pillars: processing and manufacturing industry, renewable energy industry, green industry; high-tech agriculture and sustainable forestry; port and logistics services; tourism becoming a key economic sector; rapid and sustainable urban development.

To achieve the above goal, the Party Committee also identified four breakthroughs: concretizing and creatively applying the Politburo's resolutions, developing high-quality human resources, making breakthrough investments in infrastructure and reforming administrative procedures.

Speaking at the Congress, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee Ho Quoc Dung praised the results achieved by the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee in the past term. In the context of many difficulties, the Party Committee has made efforts to advise and effectively implement the tasks of socio-economic development, maintaining national defense and security, administrative reform and gradually bringing the two-level government into order.

The Provincial Party Secretary emphasized: Entering the new term, the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee are facing many challenges such as the requirement for fast, green and sustainable growth; high demands for digital transformation, improving the quality of consulting, tightening administrative discipline, preventing and combating corruption, waste and negativity.

To successfully complete the Resolution, comrade Ho Quoc Dung suggested that the Provincial Party Committee focus on a number of key tasks: stabilizing the organization, building solidarity, perfecting the streamlined and effective administrative apparatus; innovating leadership methods, promoting the responsibility of leaders, taking the results of serving people and businesses as a measure; promoting administrative reform, digital transformation, and modernizing the administration; strengthening inspection and supervision, resolutely preventing and combating corruption, waste, and negativity, and building a contingent of cadres with qualities, capacity, and prestige to meet the requirements of new tasks.

The Provincial Party Secretary also suggested that immediately after the Congress, the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee should urgently organize to thoroughly disseminate and propagate the Resolution to all cadres, party members and people; develop a specific action program and implementation plan according to each goal and task, clearly defining the timeline and resources.

Along with that, assign responsibilities with "clear people, clear work, clear progress, clear products, clear efficiency"; establish a mechanism for regular monitoring, inspection, and urging, promptly remove difficulties and obstacles; ensure that the Resolution soon comes into life, creating clear changes right from the first months and quarters of the term.

The Provincial Party Secretary believes that with the tradition of solidarity, aspiration for development, spirit of innovation and determination to act, the Provincial Party Committee and People's Committee will promote its core and pioneering role in reforming and modernizing the administrative system; compete to successfully implement the motto: "Solidarity - Democracy - Discipline - Innovation - Development", striving to successfully complete the goals and tasks of the Congress Resolution for the 2025-2030 term, contributing to building Gia Lai province to develop rapidly, greenly and sustainably, becoming a fairly developed province in the country.

The Congress announced the decisions of the Provincial Party Standing Committee on the appointment of the Party Executive Committee, the Standing Committee, the Secretary, the Deputy Secretaries of the Party Committee; the Inspection Committee and the positions of Chairman and Deputy Chairman of the Inspection Committee of the Provincial People's Committee Party Committee for the 2025-2030 term.

Accordingly, the Party Executive Committee of the Provincial People's Committee consists of 34 comrades, the Party Standing Committee consists of 11 comrades. Comrade Pham Anh Tuan was appointed to hold the position of Party Committee Secretary; Comrade Nguyen Tuan Thanh was appointed to hold the position of Standing Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee; Comrade Vo Thi Thu Hoa was appointed to hold the position of full-time Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee.
