The Vietnamese Embassy co-organized a vibrant and practical event promoting ASEAN culture and tourism in Kuwait.

With the highlight of special performances, diverse cuisine and rich cultural exhibitions of many member countries, the cultural and tourism event organized by the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait was a very successful activity, affirming Vietnam's role as Chair and promoting the image of ASEAN to the countries in the diplomatic corps and local people.

A special cultural event organized by the ASEAN Committee in Kuwait (ACK), under the chairmanship of Vietnam, was held on the evening of May 18 at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.

The event attracted hundreds of attendees and visitors from diplomatic missions, international organizations in Kuwait, the local community and members of the International Women's Group (IWG).

In her welcoming remarks, Ms. Polina Dlamini, Chairwoman of IWG, highlighted the attractiveness of the cultural diversity and unique traditions of ASEAN member countries, as well as witnessing the growing presence of the Bloc through all countries with embassies in Kuwait.

In his opening speech, representing ACK, Vietnamese Ambassador to Kuwait Nguyen Duc Thang affirmed that ASEAN always strives to build a prosperous community while honoring the cultural values ​​of each country. Diversity is also part of ASEAN's identity, contributing to success in a number of areas, especially tourism development. With a strong recovery, in 2024 alone, ASEAN welcomed more than 122 million international visitors.

Countries such as Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, etc. are becoming more and more known for their safe and friendly tourism environment, along with majestic natural landscapes, many UNESCO-recognized world heritage sites, many beautiful beaches, vibrant cities and rich culinary arts.

The ACK President also announced that the Vietnamese Embassy will set up a dedicated Instagram channel on ASEAN culture and tourism to help people access the fastest, most complete and reliable information for their journey to the countries to enjoy the beauty, hospitality and cultural uniqueness that Southeast Asia brings.

The highlight of the event was a vibrant cultural festival with performances from several ASEAN countries such as Indonesia, Myanmar, the Philippines and Vietnam, combined with a series of videos introducing the unique culture and attractive tourist destinations of each member country.

The event atmosphere was made more cozy and attractive with a dinner party featuring many famous traditional dishes, representing the rich culinary art of the region.

Attendees will also receive meaningful gifts of high-quality products from ASEAN countries exported to the Middle East and have a chance to win valuable prizes from the Organizing Committee.

This cultural and tourism promotion event is one of the highlights that the Vietnamese Embassy has prioritized to implement during its term as Chairman of ACK, not only contributing to promoting the image of friendly, dynamic and rich ASEAN to international friends and Kuwaiti people, but also being an opportunity for member countries to demonstrate their spirit of solidarity and deep attachment in participating in the regional community.
