The conference assessed that in May 2025, the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army directed the entire army to successfully complete the tasks of the month. The entire army strictly maintained the combat readiness regime, grasped the situation, promptly advised and effectively handled situations, avoided being passive or surprised, and firmly protected territorial sovereignty .
Direct the entire army to organize training, drills, competitions, and sports events for the subjects closely, according to the program and plan, especially the 3-explosion test for new soldiers. Participate in the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the Victory Day in the Great Patriotic War in Moscow (Russian Federation) and successfully complete the task.

The entire army adjusted its force organization, ensuring timely weapons and equipment for missions. Strictly implemented the Project to arrange the local military organization to be lean, compact, and strong, meeting the requirements and tasks in the new situation. Timely mobilized forces and means to participate in effectively handling search and rescue situations and fighting forest fires.
At the conference, leaders of the General Staff of the Vietnam People's Army reported and clarified the results of the implementation of military and defense tasks and pointed out some shortcomings that need to be overcome. They requested agencies and units to focus on leadership and direction to strictly manage military numbers, weapons and equipment, maintain strict discipline, and increase patrols and guards to protect the safety of agencies, units, and warehouses.

Concluding the conference, General Nguyen Tan Cuong acknowledged and commended the achievements and requested the General Staff agencies to direct the entire army to continue to strictly maintain the combat readiness regime, monitor and grasp the situation in the country, the region and the world , promptly advise and effectively handle situations, and avoid being passive or surprised.
Regarding some key tasks in June 2025, General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested the Operations Department to preside over and urgently develop plans, organize inspections and adjustments to combat determination at the military region and provincial levels; strengthen inspections of the results of military and defense tasks and reorganize local military agencies when implementing two-level local government. Develop and approve the combat readiness plan to protect the National Day on September 2. Complete the deployment of military positions of local military agencies and documents directing and operating the exercises.

Regarding the work of organizing forces, General Nguyen Tan Cuong requested to urgently develop a resolution of the Central Military Commission and a plan of the Ministry of National Defense to closely implement the Project on arranging local military organizations to be "lean, compact, and strong" to meet the requirements and tasks in the new situation.
Complete the plan of the Ministry of National Defense for the period of 2026-2030 to implement Resolution No. 05-NQ/TW dated January 17, 2022 of the Politburo on the organization of the Vietnam People's Army for the period of 2021-2030 and the following years. Complete the organizational structure, regulations on functions, tasks, and working relationships of newly established agencies and units (Provincial Military Command, Regional Defense Command and Border Guard Command under the Provincial Military Command). Direct units to solemnly organize the Oath-taking Ceremony for new soldiers in 2025. Organize border guard training for officers of military regions and Military Commands of provinces and cities.
