Previously, in the working session on the afternoon of October 2, the 1st Congress of An Giang Provincial Party Committee, term 2025-2030 discussed and recorded 154 comments on the draft Documents of the 14th National Congress of the Party, and 99 comments on the draft Documents of the 1st Provincial Party Congress.

In the 2020-2025 term, in the context of many complicated changes in the world and the country, especially the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Party Committee, government and people of An Giang province have united, made efforts to overcome difficulties and achieved many important achievements in the political , economic and social fields, creating a solid foundation for the new development stage.
The work of building the Party and the political system has been focused on and achieved many positive results. After the merger, the Provincial Party Committee has 107 Party Committees directly under the Provincial Party Committee with more than 131,548 Party members.
The province has completed the arrangement of provincial-level administrative units. Administrative reform is identified as a breakthrough, with 100% of administrative agencies from the province to the commune performing procedures in an electronic environment.
Foreign affairs and international integration activities have been expanded, especially maintaining friendly and cooperative relations with Cambodia's border provinces.
In the period of 2021-2025, the provincial economy has many positive changes with an average 5-year GRDP growth rate of 5.68%. The scale of the economy continues to expand, the economic structure shifts in the right direction, reducing the proportion of agriculture, forestry and fishery and increasing the proportion of industry - construction and services.

Agriculture, forestry and fisheries continue to be the economic pillars, with the promotion of science and technology application, development of clean, high-tech agriculture and adaptation to climate change. Total fishery output in 5 years is estimated at nearly 7.5 million tons.
The province's industry and construction have achieved a good growth rate, becoming an important driving force for economic growth. The industrial production value in the 2021-2025 period is estimated at more than 476,000 billion VND, of which the processing and manufacturing industry accounts for 96%. Tourism in the province has developed strongly.
In 5 years, the province is estimated to welcome 80,852 million visitors, with total tourism revenue estimated at more than 142,000 billion VND.
Total export turnover is estimated at more than 9,285 million USD, with key products such as rice, seafood, garments, and leather shoes.
There has been much progress in the cultural and social fields, and people's lives have been improved. The province has effectively implemented sustainable multidimensional poverty reduction, with the poverty rate decreasing from 1.9% in 2020 to 0.91%. The rate of trained workers reached 74%.
Education and training are given attention and investment, the rate of schools meeting national standards is increasing rapidly, reaching 60%.
The health care network has been strengthened, 100% of commune health stations have doctors, and the health insurance coverage rate has reached 95%. The work of preserving and promoting cultural values has been enhanced.
In particular, in 2024, "Ba Chua Xu Festival of Sam Mountain" will be recognized by UNESCO as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity. In the coming term, An Giang aims to become a fairly developed province of the country by 2030, a strong maritime economic center of the country.
The province sets out specific targets such as: Average GRDP growth rate of 11% or more; GRDP per capita of over 6,300 USD; Urbanization rate of over 50%; Rate of schools meeting national standards of 80%.
