On September 12th, Mr. Nguyen Minh Dong, Chairman of the People's Committee of Ea Na commune, Dak Lak province, said that the commune's police force and youth union members had just assisted people in harvesting rice and escaping floods in a timely manner.

According to Mr. Dong, in recent days, due to prolonged heavy rain, some rice fields in Quynh Ngoc 2 village have been flooded. Many of the rice fields belonging to local residents were ripe but not yet harvested. Upon receiving the news, 30 police officers and soldiers from Ea Na commune, local security forces, and 20 youth union members quickly went to the fields to harvest the rice and transport it to shore in time, minimizing damage caused by the floods.

Ms. Dang Thanh Thuy (residing in Quynh Ngoc 2 village, Ea Na commune) said that heavy rains for several consecutive days caused the Krong Ana River to rise, flooding her family's rice fields. With no one at home, Ms. Thuy didn't know what to do to save her ripening rice crop. Fortunately, commune police officers and youth union members arrived in time to help Ms. Thuy and other villagers harvest their rice.
