Dak Lak: Helicopters drop relief supplies to people isolated by floodwaters

On November 22, pilots of Regiment 917, Division 370 (Air Defense - Air Force) took off with two specialized Mi-171 rescue helicopters, carrying four tons of goods including medicine and essential supplies, to Hoa Xuan commune, Dak Lak province to drop relief supplies to people in isolated areas.

During the flight from Cam Ranh airport to the relief point, the meteorological conditions were complicated, with light rain, the pilots calmly controlled the helicopter to fly at a speed of 140km/h with an altitude of 200m. The first pilot kept the aircraft stable, the second pilot observed the engine's operating parameters.

Colonel Ngo Hong Son, Deputy Commander of the 917th Regiment's Training Division, said: "The moment we flew into the flooded area, it was heartbreaking to see people surrounded by floodwaters, isolated, suffering from hunger and cold, their lives in danger. Our flight crew always kept in mind to do our best to provide enough food and necessities for the people. We hope that with our enthusiasm and small efforts, we will contribute to overcoming the consequences of natural disasters for the people."

Many areas in the east of Dak Lak province are still flooded.
