A pod of nearly 100 dolphins appeared in Nha Trang Bay

On the evening of May 18, the Nha Trang Bay Management Board said that on the afternoon of the same day, a group of fishermen in the area near Hon Dung in Nha Trang Bay discovered a pod of migrating dolphins swimming across the above sea area.

This school of dolphins, about 100 in number, moves and takes turns raising their heads to the surface of the water, creating an interesting sight.

A school of dolphins moving around Nha Trang Bay was recorded by Mr. Van (residing in Nha Trang City) and posted on social media, attracting many viewers.

Mr. Van said he was fishing in the above area when he discovered a school of dolphins swimming about 50 meters away from his boat, following each other, wriggling and surfacing as if they were dancing.

Mr. Dam Hai Van - Head of Nha Trang Bay Management Board - said that dolphins migrating through the sea shows that the marine environment in Nha Trang Bay is recovering well.

Previously, dolphins appeared many times in coastal waters in Khanh Hoa in 2020 and 2022 with hundreds of individuals.

Dolphins are mammals, 1.2 - 9.5m long, weighing from 40kg to 10 tons, often living in shallow seas, swimming in schools of several dozen to hundreds, are intelligent and friendly fish so they can be trained to perform circus acts and have saved many people in distress at sea.
