Communist Party of Vietnam attends the 23rd IMWCP Meeting

From October 20-22, 2023, the 23rd International Meeting of Communist and Workers' Parties (IMWCP) took place in Izmir, Turkey with the participation of 120 delegates representing 68 communist and workers' parties from 54 countries around the world .

This year’s meeting was hosted by the Communist Party of Turkey (TKP) under the theme “Ideological and political war against capitalism and imperialism. The task of communists is to inform and mobilize the working class, youth, women and intellectuals in the struggle against exploitation, oppression, imperialist lies and historical revisionism; for the social and democratic rights of workers; against militarism and war, for peace and socialism”.

At the meeting, representatives of communist and workers' parties exchanged views and assessed the current international situation, especially the complicated developments and tensions arising in Europe and the Middle East; called for an end to the use of force, ensuring the lives, security and safety of people in conflicts; emphasized the need to strengthen solidarity and further promote the role of international communist and workers' forces for the goals of peace , national independence, progress and socialism.

The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam actively participated in the activities within the framework of the Meeting. In their speeches and discussions, the delegation reported on Vietnam's achievements after nearly 40 years of renovation and implementation of the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress; affirmed that Vietnam consistently implements the foreign policy of independence, self-reliance, peace, cooperation and development, multilateralization, diversification of foreign relations and international integration; in which the policy is to expand and strengthen relations with communist, workers' and other political parties in the world.

On the sidelines of the plenary sessions, the Party delegation met and worked with representatives of other parties, shared information about the situation of each party and each country, discussed a number of regional and international issues; participated in displaying documents and propaganda publications about our Party at the common exhibition area, which received attention and high appreciation from international friends./.
